SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog: ATCs
http://smockery.blogspot.com/2015/04/atcs.html
SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog. Sunday, April 05, 2015. Our Creative Co-op group decided to swap Artists' Trading Cards. We meet once a month - attendance varies! I thought mine should reflect what I mostly do, so decided to make coloured pencil drawings of some of my embroidered dolls. I concentrated on the faces because people always ask me if I draw them myself or ask me where I buy them! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My book is in the Blurb bookstore! SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog: No takers!
http://smockery.blogspot.com/2014/12/no-takers.html
SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog. Saturday, December 06, 2014. I designed and made a few of these for the Steampunk themed Christmas Fair. Lots of people exclaimed and admired but nobody bought one. The arms and legs are made from plastic covered wire from an old computer. I thought he would fit perfectly with the theme. Who can tell? They say theres nought as queer as folks and this proves it, I would certainly have bought one he is delightful. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 6 x 4 lives.

SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog: October 2012
http://smockery.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog. Thursday, October 11, 2012. Much as I love stitching and embroidery, sometimes it's nice to take a short break and do something else. Over the past few days it's been getting the coloured pencils out and having a scribble. I started this a while ago, this is the Work In Progress! Click on photo for bigger image) This was a scan, so not a good reproduction. And here is the finished work. Click on photo for bigger image). I also finished this one:. Links to this post.

SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog: March 2015
http://smockery.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog. Sunday, March 15, 2015. Apologies to Bea Dollmayer. Bea, you asked about a stitch. I'm so sorry. I haven't been watching my blog lately. It's just simple buttonhole stitch over a thread. For the piece you asked about, I tacked down the first thread before I started to stitch over it, and then just carried on working in rounds, gradually building it up, without taking the needle through the backing fabric. SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog: November 2014
http://smockery.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog. Sunday, November 30, 2014. After I finished making the Santas I had a pile of small offcuts. I do hate to waste fabric, especially if I have spent time and effort collaging and quilting it. I've got a craft fair coming up, so I made some brooches. And then some more with offcuts from last year's Santas. And used up a few more oddments to make bits to decorate my hat for the Steampunk fair. Links to this post. Monday, November 10, 2014. SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog: Sampling stitches
http://smockery.blogspot.com/2015/03/sampling-stitches.html
SMockerySmArt - my embroidery blog. Sunday, March 15, 2015. I used this piece of cotton "drip cloth" to sample a few ideas before I get started on it. This piece is 8 inches square and mounted on a box canvas. The final piece of work will be 36 x 12 inches, an art quilt, mounted on a stretcher. I plan to make an impression!
