8230;a personal food journey. Saucy meatloaf →. July 24, 2013. This recipe came about purely by accident in my kitchen one night many years ago, and has has been a regular stand by ever since. The ingredients are so simple it’s beyond ridiculous, but the end result is one that will stand you in good stead many, many times. In fact it’s so good, I can tell you it’s cooked on a regular basis in the northern hemisphere as well as our own southern hemisphere! 5-6 cloves of garlic, finely chopped. 2 – 3...

8230;a personal food journey. July 20, 2013. For what seems like a lifetime I have toyed with the idea of a recipe blog. Tonight while sitting with the laptop in front of me I decided to toy no more and do it. What you currently see is the beginning of something I hope is a journey many will share and enjoy with me. Should you want to contribute, feel free to leave me a comment with your email address, or make use of the contact page, and I’ll be in touch to see what gastronomic offerings you have. You a...

8230;a personal food journey. July 25, 2013. This was adapted from a recipe I found in a cupboard on a scrap of paper. I have no idea where the paper came from or when, but I made a few changes with this being the end result. It’s a recipe that begs for a cold winter’s night and piles of fluffy mashed potatoes with extra butter and fresh cracked black pepper. The sauce is the crowning glory here, because without it, this is nothing more than an ordinary lump of meat. 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs. 2 thoughts...

8230;a personal food journey. Accidental favourite →. July 22, 2013. No matter the time of day, if you open my fridge, much of what you see will be fresh food. If I’m without fresh vegies in particular, I feel as if there’s nothing to eat. I realise that isn’t the case of course, but it’s the the way I feel on the rare occasion it does happen. In my fridge at all times you will find at a minimum, the following things. Full cream milk {we don’t do unleaded in this house! Butter. Not margarine, butter.
