Posted by MK Stover. Links to this post. Friday, March 13, 2009. Technology seems to have killed phone etiquette. While etiquette is not something that I am overly concerned with, I can't help but to be appalled by what has become acceptable:. A call comes in from I-know-not who and the caller says, "Hey.". A phone call b...

I knew something funny was going on this morning when the moms got up early and started rearranging fur. Niture. I was sure surprised when people started coming in the house. First Grammy came. Then my cousin Ashley and her beau, Gary. Then lots of people came over! And little tiny dogs! We had him treed where he would never get past us. He was totally doomed! Suddenly, he made a run for it! Cubby, thats ...

MK Stover: November 2008

Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Assoc. WV Scenic Trails Assoc. MK Stover Blog Home. The Grafton 123 Blog Home. Taylor County, WV Blog. Raccoon Run State Park. Tuesday, November 18, 2008. My Uncle Jim taught me how to cook rice. Put rice in pot, add water to cover rice. Use your index finger to check the depth of the water: the water should cover the uncooked rice to the depth of your first knuckle joint. Bring to boil, reduce heat to very low, cover and simmer until done. Posted by MK Stover.

Cubby Goes Digital: Saying Goodbye

After seven years of living offline, I am taking my boxer self and going DIGITAL! It's been a rough day. I hate to type this, but Cubby passed away today. He said to tell you all, thanks for the memories. He had a wonderful life with Dakota and his moms. We miss him terribly. He worked hard all these years, doing home visits, teaching people about boxers, and loving his mothers. Rest in peace, little old man. We'll never forget you. Run wild and free Cubby. Lots of love to your family,. I know all ouw an...

Go the the mountains and drink goat milk.'- Hippocrates. Wednesday, August 13, 2008. More oddities and other stuff from around the farm. OK, so this is not something from around the farm. This has been in the news of late, at least FOX has been doing some snarking about it. This is the season when all sorts of strange insects appear. Can anyone ID this fly? Now this is really important! I found a farmer who grows barley, along with hay. He raises his own corn, oats, barley and other feed for his catt...

Go the the mountains and drink goat milk.'- Hippocrates. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. There's gold in these hills. A couple of weeks ago before she kidded, we took pictures of her while she was in early labor- she was so huge that we thought she would have quads! I've always loved her udder and the way she milks- she is wonderful on the milk stand and always a lady, to be sure. Now, this story isn't really about Mysty- it is about Winsome and her triplets. These babies are our first HB2 level kids to be born...

Go the the mountains and drink goat milk.'- Hippocrates. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. I call it 'The Kiddie-Winky Condo'. The jugs seem to be about 4' by 4', or thereabouts, and very heavy duty plastic. they can be bedded down easily and just as easily kept clean. Since the jug has a screw off lid, a heat lamp can be placed through the top and still be safe for keeping little ones warm on cold nights. Stay tuned- the next farm field day is coming- Memorial Day weekend- I'll make an announcement soon.).
