Tuesday, November 4, 2008. I am a FINISHER! WARNING: This is very long :). So I went to sleep fairly early on Saturday night and fell asleep fairly quickly. Then I woke up at 2:30 and could not fall back asleep. I took a shower at 5:15. I already had everything laid out and packed up everything. I got dressed and made my peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. My dad really wanted a picture of me before I left, here it is. 1st ave was rows and rows of people having a good time. It was amazing! LOL How bout you?

Friday, September 26, 2008. I also had a pretty good speed workout this week. I did 1K (about .6 miles) 3 times and 1 x 1 mile interval with 400 meters in between or 0.25 miles. It was about 5 miles with warmup and cool down. My speed is definitely increasing which will help me in the long run. Thursday, October 30, 2008. Now It Is For Real! I hope I don't regret it). Here is a map of the route. I do not know how well you can see this map, but when I look at it all I can think is "WOW I am going to run that much! Getting my number made everything so real. Tuesday, October 14, 2008. This I found to be interesting: http:/ www.nycmarathon.org/training/dtip09.php. The NYC Marathon website posts tips for runner every weekday for the whole month of October. One of the tips was about clothing. I do need to figure out what I am going to wear in terms of shorts or pants. I can buy running pants but (I know this is going to sound stupid) I am not a big fan of wearing tights around while running (funny since I played volleyball for 9 years). Less than 3 weeks left!

I am debating between long sleeve and short sleeve, shorts or running pants, gloves or no gloves. I am going to try a few different combos the next couple of weeks that will help me decide. Sunday, October 26, 2008. Extremely Motivated or Just Plain Crazy. Eating this week will be interesting, some protein for the next few days and then lots of carbs the days afterwards. Lots of salt as well. I started to make checklist for things I need to take back with me for the marathon:. Gatorlytes - salt packets. Metalytes - electrolyte pills for the days before and the morning before. Clothes - for before the race that I can just toss, for the race, for after the race. Now It Is For Real!
