The Smug Sheep - Knitting News

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News. Sunday, April 29, 2012. I enjoyed watching the first series of The Killing and rashly agreed to make 'The Sweater' for my husband. Authentic yarn was duly ordered from the Faroe Islands, followed by a bit of panic on realising that I would have to create my own pattern for this. Also, my stranded knitting experience had previously been limited to a simple tea cosy, where tension and fit were not that important. Posted by smug sheep. Monday, January 03, 2011. The Smug Sheep - Knitting News: July 2008

http://smugsheep.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News. Saturday, July 26, 2008. Pattern alterations made were to reduce the armhole depth to 8" which has the side effect of reducing the body length too, and to knit the short rows in front to give a less curved bottom edge. Posted by smug sheep. Sunday, July 20, 2008. I bought loads of bamboo tape in the John Lewis sale, and immediately cast on for this Sirdar pattern top. The bamboo is lovely to knit with, although I'm a bit worried by the flashing. Posted by smug sheep. I did...

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News: Elsica

http://smugsheep.blogspot.com/2010/01/elsica.html

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. The freezing weather continues, and a walk yesterday convinced me it was time to knit myself a hat. I don't like the beanie style on me, as I have too much hair, but like the look of the slouchy berets that seem to be everywhere. I decided to try Elsica. By Woolly Wormhead. Apart from the look of the finished item, this pattern hits two of my Ten410 techniques straightaway: twist cables and cabling without a cable needle. Posted by smug sheep.

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News: December 2008

http://smugsheep.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News. Sunday, December 21, 2008. I finished the tie and small scarf in the mystery rayon. The tie will be wrapped up as a Christmas gift, albeit one my husband knows about. At the last minute, I decided on an extra few knitted gifts. Two are done, the other two are outstanding. One involved my making knitted bobbles for the first time in thick green yarn. I like them; they look like Shrek ears. Ok, better get back to those unfinished presents. Posted by smug sheep.

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News: February 2009

http://smugsheep.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

The Smug Sheep - Knitting News. Sunday, February 22, 2009. I should have followed that instinct that DH's jumper was working out too big. I knitted about 35 rounds, waiting until the cable pattern was established, then slipped the work off the needles and measured it. It was about a foot too large! I think I'm back on track now, with 2 1/2 pattern repeats completed. It's easy TV knitting, and the texture of the cable works well with the soft, lofty yarn. Posted by smug sheep. Kish's Korner: Finally, Something Finished!

http://kishskorner.blogspot.com/2008/06/finally-something-finished.html

A quiet knitting retreat. Wednesday, June 04, 2008. Finally, Something Finished! Well I finally got something finished! I did the Summer Fun Tote pattern from the Creative Knitting magazine (May 2008). I love how it turned out. I also like the fact that I could use up stash yarn and pastic bags. I am now working on the larger size bag from the same pattern. Posted by Kish @ 8:28 PM. Wait, did you say/mean plastic bags? Did the pattern use plastic bags? And 2 sorry for the confusion/babbling.

Thea Turnip: July 2010

http://theaturnip.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 18, 2010. I am still here. I haven't fallen off a cliff. I just have been doing other things and not using the main computer or my camera. I have gotten a bit of spinning done. I tried to work on the Alpaca from a few years ago (from the alpaca named Sienna), but 2 of the 3 balls were very matted. I gave up and plied most of what I had, ending up with about 350 yds. A while back I went to Maryland Sheep and Wool festival. This year I took a class on a knitted Gansey. View my complete profile.

Sunday, October 31, 2010. Pattern: Ballet from Toe-Up 2-at-a-Time Socks. I then had to start another pair of socks. I decided doing 2 at a time was too hard to use as travel knitting, so I followed the same book, but I am doing only one at a time. This also allows me to use the dpns instead of magic loop. Thea Turnip: June 2011

http://theaturnip.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 05, 2011. I have almost cleaned off my needles. There is still a list of things to do, but they haven't been cast-on yet. First here is the group of us in the tutus from the last post. We performed well with no major issues or injuries and had fun, so that passes all of my criteria. It was a lot of work for 2 minutes of dance, but well worth it. I also finished up the afghan for Warm-up America. Last year's was very ugly, so I made this one all myself instead of sewing up mis. Teddy Bear (61...

Kish's Korner: Needed Update

http://kishskorner.blogspot.com/2008/07/needed-update.html

A quiet knitting retreat. Tuesday, July 22, 2008. I was pleased today to find a pattern I had made on Ravelry. It's pretty cool to see when other people make a pattern that you have written out, and have success with it too! I have been busy making several things. Here are a few of them:. I am absolutely loving Ravelry and the wealth of patterns! Posted by Kish @ 4:42 PM. Are you comming to the Dublin Irish Fest? Ohio, United States. View my complete profile. Make your own badge here. Kish's Korner: EEP! She's Back!

http://kishskorner.blogspot.com/2007/03/eep-shes-back.html

A quiet knitting retreat. Monday, March 12, 2007. Ok, I am still here. Sorry for such the long time in posting. Thea. I know you'll be happy to read something new on here! On the knitting front:. I have been pretty busy knitting some knew items. Some I'm even designing myself. I'll get pictures posted when they are more "presentable". I also started up a knitting group at work. I was surprised to learn how many other teachers knit/crochet or want to learn how. And everything in between:. I am hoping to h...

A quiet knitting retreat. Friday, September 08, 2006. On My Feet Again. So I am back home and on my feet! I am still going to therapy 3 times a week, and have not been allowed to start back to work yet. However I have managed to do some decorating since being home and creating this cute little pumpkin. I also received a kitchen table compliments of BF's Granny. I have wanted a table for so long! Here it is all decked out. I also did the dining room, I am feeling quite festive :). A quiet knitting retreat. Sunday, May 28, 2006. I had another competition today with the Irish Girls and despite our general feeling of "aloofness" or "lack of groove" we managed to earn 12 medals between the 4 of us and our 4 dances. My Knitting Guru Friend. Received a 1st, 2nd and 3rd! Posted by Kish @ 7:50 PM. Wednesday, May 24, 2006. Here is my latest creation. I used Southwest Trading Company's "Oasis" in the color Rose.
