My little patch of ether. A GNU/Linux version of Windows “alt codes”. July 25, 2011. Windows “Alt Codes” for Linux works like this. Hold down Control and then Shift and press the “u” key. You should get an odd looking character that is waiting for input. Type the numeric code and press space. You can use more than just ASCII but can use hex values too! That’s certainly much easier than hunting around in the Character Map. The joys of running your own server…. July 8, 2011. April 20, 2011.

The Snailbox Project
Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Another envelope of awesome things! This one had a a fortune-telling fish and bunch of stuff from Japan (cardholder, monkey key cap, notebook). Also included: totally adorable postcard. The most adorable ever. I sent back candy sushi and a panda cell phone charm, and just to switch up countries, a Romanian leu. Also Post-It notes, and a die, and my own postcard. One day I'll get over this compulsion to tell random strangers about weird math problems. Maybe. Posted by Emma Zhou.
