Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Ok, I am almost finished with this. I wanted it done last week in honor of his 60th birthday but I was sooooo much more less done than I am now,.LOL! It was a nice sunny day today so I forced the kids out to hold it up(after bribes of many snacks). Here's the picture I used. It's a photo of a print someone was selling on e-bay last year. I have no idea which charity but he's always doing these nice things for charities so it sounds right. Here's the almost-finished blanket.

Thursday, April 27, 2006. I was sad to have to put the final touch on to the castle, (for this was Dumbledore's portrait inside his office), as it meant that I had to accept the ending of the Half-Blood Prince book. That's it on the top floor. I am still re-reading H-B P with my youngest (his first time), and we are just past ol' Sluggy's memory so it won't be too long now and he will be able to see the finished castle. (It's hiding in my closet until then for sure! To me, the book is all about choices a...

Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Hogwarts Castle Domed Roofs. Well, I've finally finished the crocheting part of the roofs. Whew! Now I need to add the fabric at the bottom of the cones. Here's some shots of the whole process. As usual, all the images are clickable to get a larger view of the shots). The first shot shows the stages the cone goes through. First I had to make the cone, (which wasn't easy for me to figure out! I took two shots of putting on the sleeve over the last cone so you could see how it...

Wednesday, May 24, 2006. Well, after having my computer crash a couple of weeks ago; and then having to find all my passwords and links and files all over again; I'm finally ready to post again! I made this Snape lap-ghan using a stencil that Melissa had made and posted at the Harry Potter Crafts site which there is a link for somewhere in the lower right side of this blog. Here's the photos of the afghan.(all images are clickable for enlargement). She does fabulous work! Posted by Becky at 10:29 AM.

Sunday, November 13, 2005. All images are clickable to enlarge. I've made four of these "sleeves" which will slide over the plastic canvas to create the towers. Here's the back which has an upper window. This shows the stack of towers and walls I crocheted plus one of the plastic canvases I cut out to fit the insides. This shows a tower after I sewed it onto the grid. Here's the back to show the window. Next I added a starry fabric to the inside to cover up the stitching and make it look nice. As I poste...

Friday, May 20, 2005. The Weirdest Thing I Ever Crocheted. Yes, we've all made some strange things in our time. I wanted to share mine. It all started one day when one of my boys brought in a Harley Davidson leather glove that he found in the street out front. Just the one. It looked brand new. Very nice, soft leather with a black fringe of leather and a zipper on the wrist. Well this sat in my house for a week or two with no one coming to claim the thing. What to do, what to do. Yes, I have pics! Or may...

Sunday, October 09, 2005. Well, I've decided to put my Potter dolls in here because I can no longer find the post at Crochetville anymore. I made a Professor Flitwick. He reminds me of a garden gnome. Again, click on the picture for a larger view). He is about a head shorter than the Harry doll. I didn't get a group picture. It's harder and harder to drag out all the dolls for a group shot! I am a bit depressed now about the way things are going in the latest book. I'll say no more on that. So here he is...
