Gut roiling precipitation | Just Another Tattooed Writer
https://snarkyink.wordpress.com/2010/11/07/gut-roiling-precipitation
Just Another Tattooed Writer. November 7, 2010. Filed under: horror monsters. 8212; Nikki @ 7:31 pm. I still have post-traumatic stress disorder from February’s Snowpocalypse. Reading this book wasn’t funny. In a detached kind of way, I wouldn’t have been at all surprised if Malfi’s snow creatures had taken residence in my front yard. Snow is an overpowering force. Even here in Western Pennsylvania, where snow is usually seen merely as an inconvenience, the kind of snowfall that Malfi describes in. And w...
Stephen King: Cycle of the Werewolf | Just Another Tattooed Writer
https://snarkyink.wordpress.com/2010/09/21/stephen-king-cycle-of-the-werewolf
Just Another Tattooed Writer. September 21, 2010. Stephen King: Cycle of the Werewolf. 8212; Nikki @ 8:44 pm. Cycle of the Werewolf. Stephen King takes us on a year-long search to find a serial killer. His short, to-the-point chapters are illustrated by Berni Wrightson and the final product is a fast read full of action. King definitely takes a break from his normal style with. Cycle of the Werewolf. My favorite death in the book was that of Stella Randolph. What a beautiful, twisted way to go. A...The i...
World War Z, Max Brooks | Just Another Tattooed Writer
https://snarkyink.wordpress.com/2010/10/05/world-war-z-max-brooks
Just Another Tattooed Writer. October 5, 2010. World War Z, Max Brooks. 8212; Nikki @ 9:57 pm. I have to give this book a solid 3 out of 5. Possibly a grudging 4, but that would be pushing it. Is a tough book to review. From the writers’ point of view, I have incredible respect for Brooks’ ability to make an old subject fresh. The format is new and unusual and I give him props for that, but it’s also what pushed my review of the book down from a 4 or 5. More on that in a bit. 8221; I really liked. Brooks...
Clive Barker: The Yattering and Jack | Just Another Tattooed Writer

Just Another Tattooed Writer. September 30, 2010. Clive Barker: The Yattering and Jack. Filed under: horror monsters. 8212; Nikki @ 3:42 pm. Oh, the poor Yattering. Poor, poor Yattering. I loved this short story. I loved the images Barker created of the little demons frustration. Tying knots in his genitals (p. 51)? Hiding from the horrible shock-waves of affection (p. 50)? The only creatures I felt worse for were the cats. Those questions aren’t terribly important, though. I loved this story. Po...Berkl...
Movie Review: The Thing, John Carpenter, 1982 theatrical release | Just Another Tattooed Writer
https://snarkyink.wordpress.com/2010/10/24/movie-review-the-thing-john-carpenter-1982-theatrical-release
Just Another Tattooed Writer. October 24, 2010. Movie Review: The Thing, John Carpenter, 1982 theatrical release. 8212; Nikki @ 3:53 pm. The bad (from specific to more general):. Some of the FX. Apparently I am either spoiled by the FX we get today or just really picky, because some of the blood looked really, really fake. I was willing to go along with the look of the Thing, because how would I know what this Thing looked like? Doesn’t happen. That would have been an easy fix. Was it a sign of 1982?
