Sneaky Marmot: Olympic Penninsuala: Rain Forest, Glaciers and Beach

http://sneakymarmot.blogspot.com/2005/02/olympic-penninsuala-rain-forest.html

Tuesday, February 01, 2005. Olympic Penninsuala: Rain Forest, Glaciers and Beach. Only the northwest corner of the contiguous 48 U.S. has temperate rain forests. A great place to see them is Olympic National Park. The Olympic Mountains run through the center of the park, terminating at the Strait of Juan de Fuca. On a clear day you can see the Olympics from Seattle, but it takes about 4 hours to drive around the Sound and get to the Hoh Rain Forest trailhead. Try 100 Classic Hikes in Washington. We spent...

Sneaky Marmot: Go Sit on a Mountain

http://sneakymarmot.blogspot.com/2005/03/go-sit-on-mountain.html

Saturday, March 26, 2005. Go Sit on a Mountain. For something different, try a day hermitage. Spend the better part of a day up on the mountain, instead of getting up in and then down again. You'll be surprised at how different the trek is when you savor the day from the top. Just make sure not to be hit by lightning. I tried a day hermitage for the first time just over a year ago. At the time, I was living in the north end of Utah Valley, and had wanted to summit Box Elder Peak. I'm a marketing consulta...

I'm a glass half-full kinda gal. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Big Blob of Meh. I used to be a very creative person. I was always acting, writing, drawing, painting…I was always creating. Lately, though, I don’t feel like a creative person at all. I feel like a, *gasp*, Normal! I feel like I don’t use my brain! I don’t know how I’m going to do NaNoWriMo and write a 50,000 word novel in November if I can hardly manage to write a blog post or a sketch each day. I think it all comes down to me being lazy.
