Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 16, 2008. Ximending Adventures at 9am. Fresh off the plane at 5:45am, Deb and I headed to one of the main shopping districts of Taipei, Ximending. Modelled after the Shibuya Shopping District of Tokyo, you can find lots of food and teenage hip fashion here. Of course, nothing was opened at 9am and the place deserted. That was dumb and my fault. So we did what we naturally would do… find food. Muscat juice with bits. Fresh juice stands everywhe...

Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 17, 2008. Chang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. My earliest memories (like when I was 3 or 4) was walking around CKS every morning with Mom. There was a sign about the plant species and how it’s edible, followed by another sign requesting visitors not to pluck and eat the plants. Duh. Disguising litter and recycling bins. Yes, it’s massive. If you have to walk more than 2 blocks to a 7-11/ /. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Follow...

Out of commission…. | Deb & Nansie's Meandering Adventures Through Asia
https://meanderingasia2008.wordpress.com/2008/12/14/out-of-commission
Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 14, 2008. Out of commission…. With the flu. Day 3. This is bullshit. Update: Why I wish I was still a Taiwanese citizen (at times). So if you’re in Canada and you get sick, you go to the clinic and pay $40 to see the doc, and more for the meds. If you have MSP, you pay $0 to see the doc, but then pay monthly premiums. And if you have coverage, you pay $0 (most of the time) for your meds, but take a cut from your paycheque.

Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 9, 2008. Must buy gifts from Taiwan. The BEST pineapple cakes in Taiwan. At ChiaTe Bakery http:/ www.chiate88.com. Update: This bakery is insane! So there’s only one location and that’s a smart move, but it was packed at 2pm with people grabbing pineapple cakes as soon as it was brought out! Why the phenomena, you ask? Look for the lineup. Laquo; Like the song says, its Hot Hot Hot. Out of commission…. On January 23, 2009. Shane on Sorry for t...

Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 9, 2008. Like the song says, its Hot Hot Hot. Arrived in SGP to a warm temperature of ….30 degrees. I’m always thrown off by how HOT it is. You can literally feel the heat from the glass doors when you exit Changi Airport. The first wave of muggy, humid, sweaty and just plain gross heat slams into you. That is all from my end of the world, will blog later and upload. Laquo; Sorry for the lack of posts…. https://meanderingasia2008.wordpress.com/2008/12/16/toilet-restaurant
Deb and Nansie’s Meandering Adventures Through Asia. December 16, 2008. On the way to the Shilin Night Market after getting off at the wrong stop (apparently the Shilin Night Market is not at the Shilin station) we came across the Toilet Restaurant. Needless to say, the food tasted like shit. Laquo; Ximending Adventures at 9am. Hey Nancy and Deb, could you flush the toilet? Weird concept. I bet the owner is a toilet designer!
