It is the vision of the Adaminaby Snowy Scheme Collection Committee (ASSCC) that they would build a permanent reminder of the impact on the nation of the construction of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme. It would highlight the achievements of the engineers, builders and their machines and the role the project played in the development of the modern Australian nation. The museum has and will become a multi-dimensional insight into the Snowy Scheme never before attempted under the one roof.

ADAMINABY - A UNIQUE PLACE. Old Adaminaby before the Snowy Scheme. Adaminaby was first settled as the township of Seymour in the 1860's. It was later to change its name to Adaminaby to avoid confusion with Seymour in Victoria. At the turn of the century, it was similar in size to Cooma. Adaminaby was to later to achieve fame as being the place where the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme was officially launched on 17th October 1949. How You Can Help.
