Soaking in mustard: Monthly ATC display

http://www.soakinginmustard.com/2015/06/monthly-atc-display.html

Saturday, June 13, 2015. Despite my long absence, I've managed to keep my hands dirty and the creativity flowing! I set myself a goal for 2015 to make an Artist Trading Card each day and I hang each one throughout the month in the picture frame you see below. I use what's hanging around the studio and give myself the freedom to experiment, on a very small "canvas"(2.5" x 3.5"), but it's a lot of FUN! I go with the flow, no judgement, just a free play attitude. Black, white and red. 4 months of ATCs.

Soaking in mustard: Trying to slow down

http://www.soakinginmustard.com/2015/01/trying-to-slow-down.html

Thursday, January 15, 2015. Trying to slow down. I could rush out a blog post every day.but why, to what end? Nervous Breakdown Town or Cranky City is where I'd end up! I'm closing in on 52 this year and realize I NEED. Also hoping to drop persistent perfectionistic tendencies too. (more on that, later in this post). UNIQUE Inspiration Wednesday Journal page (before). 2015 butterfly inclusion (before). I am taking a year long art journaling class with Donna Downey, called. Next day, I pull out my now fla...

Soaking in mustard: Feeling Inspired

http://www.soakinginmustard.com/2015/01/feeling-inspired.html

Thursday, January 22, 2015. I managed NOT to rush this week's Inspiration Wednesday AND get it done in one day! And it all started with Donna's fabulously FUN video, this photograph and the KEY TO THOUGHTS page. It's a fairly monochromatic art journal page for me, but pushing beyond my norm is how I'm approaching Inspiration Wednesdays. I like how it came out and was happy to use stuff that's been hanging around for a long time. Are you playing along with Donna Downey too? January 25, 2015 at 1:34 AM.

Wild Sally Road: Call It Finished or Call It Crazy

http://wildsallyroad.blogspot.com/2011/12/call-it-finished-or-call-it-crazy.html

Thursday, December 29, 2011. Call It Finished or Call It Crazy. Here we are again. Same project. different result. I had two excellent comments with suggestions for this monster. Cat. Suggested doing spirals at the ends and bending them over. Pearl. Suggested adding more tubes. Both excellent ideas. I decided to follow Cat's idea first because it would be easier and faster (assuming it worked). I really didn't want to make more tubes (then). Well, it worked. Thank you, Cat. Not I, that's for sure! Im gla...

Wild Sally Road: My Albatross

http://wildsallyroad.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-albatross.html

Thursday, December 22, 2011. I made the peyote tubes for this bracelet months and months ago and was putting the whole thing together when I realized that one of the little loops was missing on one of the bangle forms. Grr! So I sent the photo showing the missing loop to Fire Mountain and they responded promptly with a new one. Progress on The Albatross. I tried to put it all together again some time after I got the replacement only to discover that I didn't have enough silver spacers. Grr! I would just ...

Wild Sally Road: February 2012

http://wildsallyroad.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 4, 2012. And then the stomach flu hit our house. Yikes! That was not fun and that's all that's need to be said about that. And it felled several of the people who were here that weekend. Sadly we missed a trip to see a cherished SIL who was visiting Texas because of this bug. I have beaded. First I'll show you what didn't work. I call this one the Elephantine Hot Mess: I mean, look at this! So that's my record of January. Sorry to post so sporadically but that's the way it goes! Wild Sally Road: Not too much beading...

http://wildsallyroad.blogspot.com/2011/12/not-too-much-beading.html

Sunday, December 18, 2011. Not too much beading. These had felt backing to cover up the ugly threads, and they are cute (and totally brainless to do). Then I had this pattern from Heather Collin and decided to make a couple (ha! Most of these are seed beads but I did one in delicas (on the bottom) in the hopes of avoiding the bumpy bits but no. Still bumpy. GRRR! Oh, well. They were still fun and totally brainless which, for my addled mind, was perfect! I like the bumpy bits - more like real chills :-).

Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Long Time, No See (or Write). Okay, from February to June (barely) is a long break in blogging and for that I apologize. In my own defense, I have to tell you we moved from Houston to Los Angeles. And since this wasn't a company move, it was all on us and we had many years of accumulated stuff to go through and organize and get rid of. What a job! We moved into a place that's one-fourth the size of our house in Houston so the getting rid of part of the job was most. And became o...

Soaking in Southeast Asia

Soaking in Southeast Asia. A guide to soaking in natural hot springs of Southeast Asia. Sunday, 26 July 2015. Yes, I'll admit. This website as well as others I maintain are directly stimulating soaking in our earth's natural and naturally heated waters: there's little on earth that beats having an impromptu warm bath in natural water in the midst of nature. At the same time we see that managing what's left of the planet's bounty is becoming more and more of a challenge, one we might be losing. Luckily at...
