All production of solid soap made by reaction between acid and base. Sometimes Citric acid is selected (even though vegetable oils can be used as acid) to react with the base such as sodium hydroxide NaOH (baking soda) derived from hydrolysis (dissolution by water) of sodium chloride NaCl (table salt).
