The Reality of the Situation. Rambling, reviews, rides. Brews, bikes, banality. Travel, titillation, tumultuous tempest. The Man, the Myth, the Moron. Tomorrow we live on, in…. The Horizon Line →. When it stops what I did will actually be Obsolete. 7 June, 2016. My eyes open, slowly. Light filters through sheer curtains; they drift gently in a foggy morning breeze. It gets light here much earlier than I’ve grown used to. It’s barely 630. Should I move? What’s going to hurt this morning? There’s a c...

http://whiteandnerdyracers.blogspot.com/2008/06/white-and-nerdy-hits-road.html
White and Nerdy Racers. A group of four adventurers of varied and storied pasts thrown together through a series of events so interwoven that it would make your mind cease to function. We race. For fun. And because we lack the gene that enables self-preservation. White and Nerdy hits the road. Short note today for anyone who still checks up on our exploits. Is our next event and takes place this weekend. That doesn't require dragging the gorram boat. Since the road trip, race, and subsequent drive home w...

Life After School: June 2011
http://stephaniemarion.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Last weekend, Jenn and I got around to doing a race we've been meaning to do for a while- the Special Operations Adventure Race in scenic Highlands, NC. Jenn is from Highlands so she knows the area and we have a free place to stay so it is a complete Win- Win- Win! Note, however, that the word 'scenic' is often code for 'hilly' in describing races. I'm just gonna toss that out there. Out of 11 teams. Way to go Team Will Race For Food! Thursday, June 9, 2011. So the summertime is n...

SOAR Highlands Adventure Race or The Longest Race Ever. The SOAR Highlands Adventure Race. Was held June 13, 2009. The event benefits the Special Operations Warriors Foundation. I signed up for the race because one of my best friends asked if I wanted to do the race with him. I only found out about the cause after we go there. I'll say it again, It's a good cause and its held in what very well could be the most beautiful part of North Carolina. Then back to the registration place for the spaghetti dinner...

Dwight World: May 2010
http://dwightwater.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Yes, That's a GIGANTIC Sweat-cicle. Yes, that's a GIGANTIC Sweat-Cicle. Sunday, May 30, 2010. Well the birthday week ended just how it started. Overindulgence and excess. I was a far cry from prepared for my first 'A' race of the season but I towed the line anyway as I was really looking forward to this one. The French Broad River Challenge. Unfortunately, a 5K road race had just started on the route to my bike. This caused the police to shut down traffic. No problem, just a slight panic attack t...Well,...

Yes, That's a GIGANTIC Sweat-cicle. Yes, that's a GIGANTIC Sweat-Cicle. Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Summer of This and That. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a long time whitewater paddler that slowly lost the nerve. I've since moved into adventure racing, off road triathlon and ultra running. I've never been able to figure out what I like best so I pretty much do them all. As long as it involves the outdoors and racing, I'm good to go. Summer of This and That. Dwight World: August 2010
http://dwightwater.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Yes, That's a GIGANTIC Sweat-cicle. Yes, that's a GIGANTIC Sweat-Cicle. Saturday, August 21, 2010. A long hot Summer of hit and miss racing kind of put a damper on my motivation. It seemed like no matter my fitness, my race results have been ordained by the temperature, I.E. meltdown madness. Nonetheless, I have had a few good results lately and that was enough spark to push me up to Fayetteville, WV for one of my favorite races of the year. Captain Thurmond's Challenge. They were the perfect choice for ...
