Week Fifteen: The End. The End Is Near! 8221; read the cardboard sign a man was holding at the Elmhurst Avenue subway stop. I noted that he, like many other residents of Queens, appeared to be headed into Manhattan for a day’s work. I smiled at him, semi-hoping that he wasn’t right in a big picture sort of way, while at the same time noting with some pleasure that the end of the semester was indeed fast approaching.
