Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: October 2014
http://sherrirodell.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. Caught In A Speed Trap. Has anyone ever been 'pulled over' for running? Well I can say that I now have. We had just got to the bottom of miniature Mt. Everest to begin the drills, when our local police cruiser pulled up beside us. There were two officers inside, and as we watched, they parked the car, got out and approached us. Of course, your mind begins racing with thoughts of, "Why'd they get out? What did we do? Yeah This was us. And I'm still deciding if that extra jolt o...

Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: Kansas City Chiefs Arrowhead 5k: Recap
http://sherrirodell.blogspot.com/2015/05/kansas-city-chiefs-arrowhead-5k-recap.html
Saturday, May 23, 2015. Kansas City Chiefs Arrowhead 5k: Recap. They changed the course? Say it ain't so! This would be my second year of running the 3rd Annual Kansas City Chiefs Arrowhead 5k. And I was NOT HAPPY when I heard they'd made a "slight" course change this year…. As in, we'd no longer be able to run into and finish on the 50-yard line at Arrowhead Stadium, all the while seeing ourselves up on the giant Jumbotron screen. I don't get to see me up on THAT? Bad form, Chiefs. Did I sprain it?

Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: April 2014

Monday, April 14, 2014. Jamaica: The Medical Clinic. So, I'm back from Jamaica, and as I'm all ready to sit down and write some totally amazing, totally inspiring, blog posts about my work there - the unthinkable happened. As I was uploading my photos from the trip - all 872 of them, by the way - my laptop decided to go into cardiac arrest. It basically crapped out. The good news is that my laptop is now home from the Apple hospital. We went to work in a Methodist medical clinic in Falmouth, Jamaica....

Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: The Color Run 5k: A Review
http://sherrirodell.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-color-run-5k-review.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. The Color Run 5k: A Review. On a normal day, if my 15-year old daughter were to rub her psychedelic chalk-covered hands all over my face and neck, leaving me looking like a Salvador Dali painting on acid - I'd pretty much slap her upside the head, and then ground her for a week. Yeah…that is totally me. All is fair in love and war…or in this case, at the Color Run. The "Happiest 5k on the Planet", aka " The Color Run. Me: "Hey - the Color Run is coming! Wanna' do it with me? Running...

Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: March 2015

Thursday, March 26, 2015. Going All Mama Bear During a TV Interview. I'm normally a pretty easy-going person. Seriously - those of you who know me "in real life" know that it takes a lot to get me riled up…For the most part, I can roll with the punches, and although I might make a snarky comment or two (or three…or more…but, really, who's counting? I can pretty much let things go. Let me back up. Because one of my new responsibilities includes possibly doing media interviews on a national level (think CN...

Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: September 2014
http://sherrirodell.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 20, 2014. I Don't Like Spiders and Snakes…or Kidnappers, Either. The problem with having a good imagination is that…well…sometimes…you can have TOO GOOD of an imagination. Which isn't always a blessing. Let me backtrack for a moment…. This morning, I bounded out of bed at the bright and early hour of 7:00 am, unbridled in my enthusiasm that I was going to have the exciting opportunity of running for a whopping 90 minutes…. Well…me neither, honestly. Aren't you running, too? AnywayR...

Adventures of a Middle-Aged Drama Queen: January 2014
http://sherrirodell.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 25, 2014. What an interesting day. Of course, the past week has been rather…interesting. It's amazing how we love to play "Monday Morning Doctor" - or "Back Seat Physician"…but with NONE of us having any medical schooling, we have certainly come up with some amazing diagnoses on our own. Scary, for sure. Well This will never do. Through some strategic maneuvering, I managed to get a little closer:. An added bonus…not only did I enjoy the band, but I enjoyed this guy's hair:. After the f...

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Don't Give Up On Me, Baby. Here it is…the middle of summer…and life has been moving at BLAZING speed lately. We went to Europe. We came back from Europe. We went to Florida. We haven't come back from Florida - yet - but will one of these days. I've been running. Still. I've been going to baseball games. Still. And I have an upcoming 10-day adventure to Orlando. I took THAT many. With a 'selfie' thrown in for good measure. Complete with a creepy photo bomber. Who Is the Drama Queen?
