Is this the culprit? | CSR175

A reference for building and living with a Caterham 7. Is this the culprit? April 27, 2015. OK, this will definitely jinx it! But after several more hours digging around the electrics I ended up at the ignition switch. Is this the culprit that has been causing all my mis-starting issues? The ignition switch does not get exercised across its full range as it was probably designed to because I have a starter button so rarely move it to position III. Getting the key in/out has been stiff from new. After 3&#...

A reference for building and living with a Caterham 7. A Trip to Blighty. July 22, 2015. While visiting some friend in East Surrey, I also dropped by the newly opened Caterham South location:. Really impressive with a complete range of new cars and a wide selection of used vehicles too. I was interested to understand the trade-offs of fitting an aeroscreen and unfortunately (! For those that have wondered about the rear exhaust and silencer fitment on the 620R, here is a photo:. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Scott's Zero Build: 27th October 2007
http://scottszerobuild.blogspot.com/2008/10/27th-october-2007_23.html
Thursday, 23 October 2008. Problems discovered after dry fit! I borrowed an engine hoist from one of the club members who was very kind in lending it to me (snapperpaul) and lowered the engine in. After the initial struggle of getting the engine to slide onto the gearbox shaft (which it finally did! A number of 'issues' presented themselves. I have a friend who is a steel fabricator so i took them to him with fresh measurements and had the cut and re-welded! And the appropriate hosing! And said i needed ...

Monday, 20 October 2008. You gotta roll with it.'. Finally i have the car as a rolling chassis! The 24 quickrack and steering column are all also in place and i've started with the wiring. I'm trying to hide and much of the wiring as possible and am running a lot of it in the chassis tubes themselves. Monday, October 20, 2008. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Scott's Zero Build: November 2008
http://scottszerobuild.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 27 November 2008. Whilst I had the engine mocked up, and various problems to resolve (like the oil filter issue! And before I lost myself in wiring as i was going to attempt to make my loom from scratch, I wanted to tackle the exhaust manifold. I had never made a manifold before, more so i had never really done much welding before! The clean cut look! No conventional manifold would work, and space, this was extremely limited! Money aside i was quite dubious about getting someone else to do it a...

Scott's Zero Build: November 2007
http://scottszerobuild.blogspot.com/2008/10/november-2007.html
Friday, 31 October 2008. Scuttle and Pedal Box. With the engine in place and some of the minor problems fixed it was now time to look at fixing the scuttle. My intension was to make up the scuttle with the firewall in place along with the dash but i wanted to be able to remove the dash to allow access for me to make the wiring loom and secure the fuseboxes. Finally the pedal box. This was very straight forward. Bent the ally to shape, and secured in place. Friday, October 31, 2008. 7 January 2012 at 04:53.

An Update on Starting | CSR175
https://csr175.wordpress.com/2015/07/22/an-update-on-starting
A reference for building and living with a Caterham 7. An Update on Starting. July 22, 2015. While in the UK, I also spent some time conversing with Derek on my starting issue. Derek kindly sent me a replacement ignition switch as well as confirming my wiring diagram. Unfortunately, while the new switch has resulted in a much more positive action, this has not cured the starting issue. So it is back to head scratching😦. A Trip to Blighty. Earth Points →.
