Soggy Runner Girl

I run in the rain and I like it, most of the time. Monday, January 19, 2015. CIM, did that really happen? My goals for this race were to not get sick (I battle nausea after and during a lot of my marathons) and to finish strong(meaning I wanted to actually try and be super disciplined in the early miles so that I could have some left in the tank). I knew if those 2 things happened that there was a chance I could PR but really I was ok if it did not happen. Legs up, resting :). I feel like it has been too...

Soggy Runner Girl: December 2012

http://soggyrunnergirl.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

I run in the rain and I like it, most of the time. Sunday, December 2, 2012. Yes, this is Seattle in late November :). The Star spangled Banner began and it was time to focus, all the training lead up to that moment. I was physically ready, mentally ready, I had a plan and I was going to go for it. I started with the 3:15 pace group which was my plan. I intended to stick with the pace group through 1/2 way and then access how things were going. I was really trying to slow down. I wanted to stick to m...

Soggy Runner Girl: January 2013

http://soggyrunnergirl.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

I run in the rain and I like it, most of the time. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. I ran 3295 miles in 2012. That is a lot of miles :). 2012 was a year that brought failure and success for me. I learned so much and met so many great people through running :). I feel blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful mentors and friends in this running community! I have considered Newport, Utah Valley, Grandmas, and maybe Windermere redemption :). Feb 9- Heartbreaker 1/2. Maybe Ragnar So. Cal. Busy running.af...

Soggy Runner Girl: Here

http://soggyrunnergirl.blogspot.com/2013/10/here.html

I run in the rain and I like it, most of the time. Thursday, October 3, 2013. I'm here, I'm alive, I'm excited, I'm scared, I'm trained, I'm sick, I'm going for it. I arrived here in St. George late last night and have had a very restless night of sleep, unfortunately I have an awful head cold. Ideal, no bit really is race prep ever ideal? The reality of it all is I have done the training, all of it! See you on the flip side. Christy @ My Dirt Road Anthem: A Runner's Blog. October 3, 2013 at 9:18 AM.

Soggy Runner Girl: Heartbreaker 1/2 and a little heartbreak

http://soggyrunnergirl.blogspot.com/2013/03/heartbreaker-12-and-little-heartbreak.html

I run in the rain and I like it, most of the time. Friday, March 1, 2013. Heartbreaker 1/2 and a little heartbreak. 1-6:24, felt good :) No big hills, passed Hayley running my own race and was wondering if that was a mistake. I prefer chasing to be being chased, but I decided that it was time to try something new. I tend to let people I think are faster go ahead so that I dont feel any pressure from behind. 4-7:08 Heartbreaker hill lived up to its name! About mile 4 1/2 of the course, beautiful. 6-6:31 I...

The hills were not exagerated. Muddy trails - check. Puddles and creeks to hop over - check. Stairs? I'm off to ice now. November 2, 2013 at 6:38 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 1012 miles: Less than 8 weeks...

http://onethousandtwelvemiles.blogspot.com/2013/04/less-than-8-weeks.html

My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Less than 8 weeks. Less than 8 weeks until my first Marathon. And I only really just started believing I can finish about 11 days ago. Between training for the Marathon, being a mom to my 2 girls, work, the non-profit and planning Ladybug Run. I am not left with a lot of time for blogging. but since this is a memory I'd like to preserve and I am always on the computer and NEVER journal anymore - this is the best I am going to do. I hope you pla...

1012 miles: My 15K Training plan....

http://onethousandtwelvemiles.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-15k-training-plan.html

My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. Saturday, January 14, 2012. My 15K Training plan. Http:/ www.runningahead.com/logs/b6dc94f6d9f84a72a54839dd542bbee9/plans/f1fe441ef6e64d8f993514adcb9983e3. I would like to keep increasing my mileage without over-training since I am using this as a springboard into training for Rock and Roll Half in May and would like to have my base higher going into it so that 13.1 will seem easy. I'm curious to hear any feedback or advice from my wise running friends. I will be there!

My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. Monday, July 8, 2013. VUM 2013 Race Report. You would have thought I would have had no problem writing this blog post. but post marathon I just embraced the rest and extra time with my family. oh ya, and catching up on work and Ladybug Run stuff. So here goes.and hold tight, it's a long one! I described myself as nervously excited, and excitedly nervous. I did my pre-race dynamic stretches, ran into a few friends, and then walked over to line up at the start. I was beyon...

My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Getting Back on the Wagon. Wow Forgive my LONG absence from the world of blogging. Registration is open for www.ladybugrun.com. We are busy getting everything planned to make this next years race even better than last year. Some pretty awesome prizes are rolling in. 1012 miles: My injury prone Runner's Toolkit

http://onethousandtwelvemiles.blogspot.com/p/my-injury-prone-runners-toolkit.html

My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. Some people can just run and run and run and have no issues. I am not one of those people. This is what I have learned that helps me. I am no expert. Everyone is different and what has worked for me, may not work for you. but I wanted to share nonetheless. When I started running again (this would be my third or fourth attempt) in the fall of 2010, I decided this time I would start with a plan. So I used the Couch25K plan. Then I added mo...

My injury prone Runner's Toolkit. Monday, April 14, 2014. Vernonia Marathon Race Recap. This is kinda rambly and all over the place- but I wanted to type this up when it was fresh. Sorry it's a long one. Cheering section at mile 9. Feeling good here at mile 9. Would I need to call it in? How long would this take if I just walked the rest? My Garmin time is 2 min less than official due to auto pause and me stopping. I not only finished, I finished strong with my head held high. I liked the hoody Leslie Jo...

Henstrom Happenings: January 2011

http://henstromhappenings.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 12, 2011. A Tale of 2 Trees. The Saturday after Thanksgiving we set out on our annual tree hunting adventure. We ended up at the same place we went last year because it is only 5 minutes from our house and after you pick out your tree they come and cut it down for you with a chainsaw. Mike really prefers this to cutting it himself, I tend to pick really tall trees with really big trunks. This year was no exception! Annual trip downtown to the Christmas tree, and to visit with Santa.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010. I know it was about 6 weeks ago but I realized I never blogged about Noah's actual b-day. His b-day was also his first day of preschool for the year. He missed the cutoff for Kindergarten by 15 days. Oh well! First day of school pic. Red Robin, of course :). BLAST from the past. 17 years ago I was a freshman at BYU (yes I am getting old! 17 years ago I met some amazing girls who have turned out to be amazing women! I have not laughed that much in a long time! Too many to count.

Super Jan, Saving the World.

Super Jan, Saving the World. Welcome to the inner workings of my mind. June 23, 2012. I don't know, it's complicated. I feel. fine. Good even. So if I can't see myself marrying him, then why have I been living here, with him, for the last 3 and a half years? I don't know what I'm saying. just a lot on my mind. It's hard to explain to other people who don't understand or respect you, what you're feeling. I'm just. different. Worst case scenario: I move out, we break up, and it's not as messy as if I were ...

When I got on here recently I couldn't believe that the last time we posted was way back in September! Obviously, part of what makes a blog so fun to follow is the constantly changing nature of them, which hasn't been happening here so much;).
