The Farm Life Re:Defined. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. When the Chickens are Chicken. With all the snow and colder temps that have stuck around from the end of December through the beginning of this year, the chickens (until today) have been hesitant.squeamish.well, just plain CHICKEN. About coming out of the coop! Despite the fact that all our hens are "winter hardy", my guess is they're all wishing they had flown south with the rest of the snow birds. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Farm Life Re:Defined. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain. Last week my family was together vacationing in Twin Lakes, Colorado. It was as gorgeous as I had expected (or even more so)! This was the view from our house. I at times wondered why I live in Illinois when such landscapes as this can be seen right outside the window. I'm still chewing on this one.I think it has something to do with corn.and beans.and chickens.but I'll get back to you.). Ryan and I.we are. Not to b...

The Farm Life Re:Defined. Saturday, June 22, 2013. As a farmer, I see rain as a funny thing. I'm rarely happy about the amount, it's timing, whether it arrives in a hard or soft fashion, or whether we even need it at the moment.because I'm apparently a self-designated genius about how, when, where, and how much rain is needed at any given time. The Farm Life Re:Defined: April 2013
http://farmliferedefined.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
The Farm Life Re:Defined. Monday, April 22, 2013. So Ryan and I have taken to watching our public television stations when nothing else good is on. Really, it's often on in the background while we do other things. But tonight I was captivated. Which aired on our WQEC station tonight, told the compelling story of rural Indian farmers in a cycle of debt because of biotechnology which, from my estimation, does not seem suited to their environmental and financial circumstances. While I pray for a resolution ...

The Farm Life Re:Defined. Monday, March 25, 2013. Spring has come tip-toeing in this year. And despite being nearly a week into spring, we have seen only a few signs of its entrance. Because we have 6 inches of snow blanketing the fields around us, I thought I'd share a few of the subtle signs of spring I've noticed. Crocus and other spring flowers. And super cute chicks.the little one is sleeping on the bigger one's back. So fret not the snow.for spring is on its way! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Farm Life Re:Defined. Sunday, August 21, 2016. We have arrived at home! When we arrived in Macomb, we were blessed to see many familiar faces! We are so thankful for you guys! We hope to see everybody again soon. Then it was time for our first ride in Mommy's car and a car seat. Things went surprisingly well. We made it 20 minutes in good spirits, then a touch of fuss, and then lights out. A happy carpet mower at 2am. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. On the night before.

The Farm Life Re:Defined. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. One Reason Why I L.O.V.E. being an Aunt.is Oodling. One of the supreme joys of having nephews and nieces is Oodling over the sweet babes. Oodling" is an official term, defined officially as "the action of hysterical hugging, cheek-pinching, laughing, and at times, arm-flapping,. From feelings of pure adoration and soul-quaking excitement."). Ryan and I are so blessed to have three nephews. They are the cutest and sweetest children. Ever. This always ...

Keeping up with the Sell's: May 2010
http://mattandhalie.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Keeping up with the Sell's. Sunday, May 16, 2010. Goin' to the Chapel. Dusty and Brian got married on May 15th at Rosewood. Rosewood is a big antebellum type home, with very pretty grounds. They got married in the outdoor space under the canopy and everything turned out so nice. It was a fun day spent getting ready and hanging out with Dusty and the other bridesmaids. Dusty had someone come to do our make-up which was a nice treat. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Goin to the Chapel.
