What's Happening with the Colemans?: March 2011

What's Happening with the Colemans? Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Yesterday I remembered a story that Lindsay tells of her time in Rwanda with the Peace Corps. She would often go to the local market for fresh eggs and such. Most of the time the kid/person selling her eggs would try to sell her green eggs. She thought they were trying to sell her funky or diseased eggs because she was an ignorant American. She insisted on buying only brown or white eggs. Because most of us were raised on and/or still eat conv...

What's Happening with the Colemans?: January 2010

What's Happening with the Colemans? Thursday, January 14, 2010. Not the Happiest Place on Earth. This past Christmas we traveled to Florida to visit with Rob's family. Our visit was great and the weather was awesome. Uncle Bob and Aunt Joan live on the beach so we got to spend a lot of time there too. Our favorite times were spent at the beach. Rob is an only child therefore we all get spoiled when we visit. I am grateful, and like childbirth, now that the pain has passed, I can reflect on the good times.

What's Happening with the Colemans? Friday, October 28, 2011. Halloween 2011: A Primer in Fame. Since we have been married, Rob and I have never dressed up for Halloween. Until this year. I saw the idea for this costume on Martha Stewart dot com and knew this was the one. I knew these costumes would serve Rob and me for years to come. You can read more about how I made the costumes here. I remember those guys! A bag of candy. So what was it like to be famous? October 30, 2011 at 3:40 PM. November 12, 201...

http://colemansarehappening.blogspot.com/2010/09/parkers-second-triathlon.html
What's Happening with the Colemans? Wednesday, September 15, 2010. This year Parker participated in the second annual River Rock Youth Triathlon here in Rexburg. It is a non-competitive event aimed at getting, and keeping, kids active. Kids participate in three age groups: 5-7, 8-9 and 10-12. Kids in Parker's age group (5-7) swim 50 yards, bike .8 miles and run .5 miles. It is a blast to watch and the kids have SO much fun! Parker (in the green shorts) getting ready for the start horn. What's Happening with the Colemans? Friday, August 27, 2010. Florida Part 1: Avoided the Financial Rape of Disney. We had the opportunity this summer to spend 4 weeks in Florida while visiting Rob's family. I always feel it is a blessing to have family in Florida because we would never have a reason to travel that far. As Rob says, we would just to to Utah like everyone else. The first thing people ask when hearing about a vacation to Florida is, "Are you going to Disney World? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

What's Happening with the Colemans?: Farewell, Dear Friend
http://colemansarehappening.blogspot.com/2010/12/farewell-dear-friend.html
What's Happening with the Colemans? Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Farewell, Dear Friend. Our beloved Zekie died this past Tuesday peacefully at home. He was 13 1/2 years old, which as I calculated, is an impressive 94.5 dog years. Before Rob and I had kids, the dogs were our kids. We took them on road trips to visit family, we took them camping and even to ward activities. We even took them to get their picture taken with Santa at PetSmart. Below are some pictures of Zeke and his life with us. Oh my I fo...

What's Happening with the Colemans?: May 2010

What's Happening with the Colemans? Saturday, May 22, 2010. We have three different breeds of chickens: 1 Barred Rock, 1 Buff Orpington and 2 Araucanas. Rob and I researched various breeds based on their personalities and egg laying capabilities. Barred Rock hens lay brown eggs and have a gentle disposition so they make a great breed for the small farm or backyard grower. Below is an example of a full-grown Barred Rock hen. Parker holding Bowser who is a Barred Rock. Mesitos who is a Buff Orpington.).

http://colemansarehappening.blogspot.com/2011/08/youth-triathlon-2011.html
What's Happening with the Colemans? Monday, August 22, 2011. It's the post you look forward to all year! For the third year in a row, the kids participated in the local River Rock Youth Triathlon. Marin got to participate in the triathlon for the first time year as she was a week away from turning 5. The kids raced in the 5-7 year old age bracket and had to swim 50 yards, bike .8 mi., and run .5 mi. They had a ton of fun and did great! Both are looking forward to doing it again next year. That is SO cool!
