The Rude Morgue: Battle: Los Angeles
http://rudemorgue.blogspot.com/2011/12/battle-los-angeles.html
No, no, leave the rooster story alone - that's human interest.". Dec 5, 2011. Rating: Close Encounter of the 1/3 Kind. Dumb science fiction is sometimes fun. The first Transformers. Film was idiotic, but a real blast to watch. Hell, even Star Wars. Is pretty dumb, but it's one of my favorites. And the science in a movie can be really terrible and still allow for a great time. The Matrix. For instance, makes no sense whatsoever, but I love it. Sure we came light-years to attack this planet, and our techno...

The Rude Morgue: Improv, Revisited
http://rudemorgue.blogspot.com/2013/01/improv-revisited.html
No, no, leave the rooster story alone - that's human interest.". Jan 25, 2013. So the last (and only) time I posted about improv in this space, I said:. It's a little irritating when you go into something thinking you're going to be great at it and you're just so-so. Let me assure you that it's not a hell of a lot of fun to look back at a year and a half of working on something and feel about the same, or even feel that "so-so" might have been a generous self-assessment. Feeling wasn't quite so familiar.

The Rude Morgue: Capsule Reviews
http://rudemorgue.blogspot.com/2012/02/capsule-reviews.html
No, no, leave the rooster story alone - that's human interest.". Feb 7, 2012. Here are several movies I've seen and been too lazy to blog about, collected in one half-assed burst, and in no particular order:. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz, 2006. In being a sci-fi/fantasy movie but not an action movie. I found it interesting, but slow and a bit repetitive. Overall, I'd give it a B. Though it is really a matter of taste. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen, 2011. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil -. 12/04 - 12/11 (...

The Rude Morgue: Fiction?
http://rudemorgue.blogspot.com/2013/01/fiction.html
No, no, leave the rooster story alone - that's human interest.". Jan 30, 2013. This little story's about four years old, and it isn't doing much other than taking up a tiny percentage of my Google Drive space. So I'm throwing it out here for you, if you haven't seen it already, and then I'm going to forget it. So here it is. And don't worry, it's pretty short. The welfare of each of us is dependent fundamentally upon the welfare of all of us," she proclaimed seriously. I have never in my life envied a hu...

INK GORILLA: February 2009
http://inkgorilla.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 19, 2009. I've become quite a cheese addict - and have devoted a large part of the last year or so learning everything I can about my favorite food. Admittedly, I have a lot yet to learn. The faint ammonia whiff of cheese-past-its-prime wafted up from the serving board. Oh no. I am not afraid of stinky cheese. I am not afraid of cheese that has aged to the color of old parchment and is more goo than solid. I am not unused to the mild ammonia odors that a really. Our hosts were very gra...

INK GORILLA: September 2009
http://inkgorilla.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 6, 2009. End of Summer Update. Long time, no update blog. It's been a busy summer, and I've been too preoccupied with stuff to blog much. Facebook is one culprit. It's too easy to post micro-updates there - and far more convenient for my lazy tastes! I also started a Twitter Feed, so I got a little overwhelmed will all the places I could. Say something - and didn't know what to say. (I've also got a LiveJournal, but hey, I can haz moar overload? 4) Gaming. We got a Nintendo Wii, fin...

INK GORILLA: January 2010
http://inkgorilla.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 1, 2010. 2009: Five Books I Have Read. We have spent the day reflecting on the year that has passed and the year that is to come. And so I've been thinking a lot about writing and reading. One of my goals (I won't say "resolution") is to keep a log of what I've read so I can better remember. No doubt some of those entries will also appear here on my blog, so keep your eyes peeled. And in no particular order. The final chapter in Vandermeer's Ambergris series, Finch. Detective John Finch w...
