Budapest - Part 1
http://www.somethingdoing.com/2015/04/27/budapest-part-1
Budapest - Part 1. So , even though I knew for months I was going to Budapest I still left it until the day I was travelling to pick up some Hungarian forints while hungover! I felt pretty rough walking around Bristol looking for foreign exchange shops, kicking myself for drinking the night before and making my day of travel unnecessarily challenging and stressful. I also had a rising anxiety about what Budapest would be like when feeling 'delicate'. We had a nice little chat about Bristol, I was pleasnt...
Istanbul - part 2
http://www.somethingdoing.com/2015/02/23/istanbul-part-2
Istanbul - part 2. Oi you , stop , oi STOP! The guy hissed behind me. Now I still don't know if he was actually adressing me but then he was speaking English , so chances were pretty high he wanted to 'chat' with the tourist. Still fresh to the area I was feeling expecially cautious so wasn't going to stop for a quick knifing, luckily, at that moment one of the accomodation staff was standing outside the building so I immediately headed at him with a big grin. Hey mate hows it going? He joked at whether ...
Istanbul - part 3
http://www.somethingdoing.com/2015/02/24/istanbul-part-3
Istanbul - part 3. I awoke surrounded by an ice cold mattress. Anywhere that had not been covered by the blanket was as cold as a British female prime minster's heart. I leapt out of bed and rapidly got changed. I really had expected to hear the early morning call to prayer, still not sure why I didn't as the windows weren't that thick and I could see a mosque from my room. Room with a view 😀 #instanbul. Budapest - Part 3
http://www.somethingdoing.com/2015/04/30/budapest-part-3
Budapest - Part 3. I got myself up and out of bed the following morning at a not unreasonable 9 maybe 10am. I felt a bit naff, remnants of a hangover, poor sleep from nicotine in the blood ' oh woe is me' type stuff you know. I haven't travelled extensively , just to three different countries on my own (so far) and each time I've found it invaluable to just go out for a little wander and get lost to start familiarising myself with a place. Getting to St Margaret's Island from the hostel isn't that diffic...
Budapest - Part 2
http://www.somethingdoing.com/2015/04/29/budapest-part-2
Budapest - Part 2. So there I sat in a six seater taxi hurtling down the wrong side of the road toward the city center. I felt a bit of a tool sat in that large taxi all to myself, but hey ho. The taxi driver seemed decent enough, spoke good English which was great since my Hungarian was (still is! I watched the city appear around us and tried to get a sense of the country I was now in, but I couldn't really get much from what I saw, except it was a relatively quiet place with large old buildings. I prod...

8220;Something Doing reflect the sparkling era of ragtime music in an authentic and beautifully articulated fashion. Using a combination of “golden era” vintage mandolins and other instruments they weave tightly honed classic rags with original tunes and songs. The duo is playful and entertaining with excursions into the humouresque contrasted with moments of exquisite artistry.”. Rod Vervest, Artistic Director. Something Doing with Jen and Dave
Something Doing with Jen and Dave. Saturday, July 21, 2007. Raindrops On Roses - Mainz to Home. Listed below are our favorite and least favorite parts of our trip to Germany. Least Favorite:1. no real queen or king beds- only 2 twins pulled together. All feather beds which would be nice if I was not allergic to pillows. Needing to pay for water everywhere and water costs more than beer! Some icky cuts of meats. Not too much variety as a country cute cobble stone streets and history. Hyatt Regency in Mainz.
