The Salt Mine: December 2014
http://jpsaltmine.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. 20 years - and counting - in SPJ. I opened up my mail the other evening to see that SPJ had sent me my 20-year pin. Has it really been that long? Anyhow, if you're a journalist, you should know that the Society of Professional Journalists is America's oldest and largest organization for journalists. Our leaders work to advocate for the First Amendment and to promote higher professional standards in our industry. You can join online at this link. So, what are you waiting for?
The Salt Mine: No more Cambodias
http://jpsaltmine.blogspot.com/2011/02/no-more-cambodias.html
Monday, February 14, 2011. Seeing countries go through periods of revolution - like what has happened in Egypt and Tunisia recently - always brings both excitement and anxiety. The new governments there, whatever they turn out to be, could bring positive change for those societies, but there's also the risk that things could get much, much worse than they had already been. Several months ago I read the awesome book Pol Pot: Anatomy of a Nightmare. Hard to believe it was real life. Is such a hopeful song,...

The Salt Mine: Transparency Camp '09 is awesome
http://jpsaltmine.blogspot.com/2009/03/transparency-camp-09-is-awesome.html
Sunday, March 1, 2009. Transparency Camp '09 is awesome. I'm in Washington, D.C, for Transparency Camp. An "uncamp" being led by the Sunlight Foundation at the Center for Politics, Democracy and the Internet on the campus of George Washington University. (And the subject is government transparency - no, friends on Facebook, I am not learning how to make myself invisible. But thanks for the laugh.). Read more by searching Twitter for hashtag #tcamp09. I'm tweeting as Texas Watchdog. Follow me on Twitter.

Cute Family, Donna! Blogs take up so much time, right? Soooo, did Jeff just lose his job again in August? View my complete profile.

Monday, May 31, 2010. Hard to have seat belts when your sitting on a board. We decided that Nicola and Chris would ride a long and attempt to keep everyone safe. Nicola asked sam to move over the other side to balance things out and he looked completely indigent and replied "but I'm sitting next to Carmen." So he stayed put and we rearranged others (of course not moving carmen in the process! The driver and his son got such a kick out of me snapping away and the kids giggling. Along the way Addie had fal...

Cute and crazy crawford clan: Sammy Turns Five!
http://cuteandcrazycrawfordclan.blogspot.com/2011/05/sammy-turns-five.html
Friday, May 27, 2011. I cannot believe how the time flies, Sammy is already five! Which is true, he is nuts about making stuff out of trash. I decided to class it up a bit and go with painting party. This year I didn't want to go to the effort of making an entirely new fabric birthday bunting so I made one in photoshop instead in fun bright colors, then sewed it to some striped fabric. We ordered lots of paints. And everyone got their own canvas, crown, whistle and mask to decorate. I got a chance to try...
