Danger of Being a Journalist in Lebanon | Online Conversations
https://lisoosh.wordpress.com/2007/08/19/danger-of-being-a-journalist-in-lebanon
August 19, 2007. Danger of Being a Journalist in Lebanon. 8212; lisoosh @ 12:38 pm. Being a journalist can involve calling up the families of the dead to ask about their lives. It can involve writing opinions and being interviewed on television about them; or chatting to the rich, famous or powerful and basking in the reflected glow of celebrity. It can involve watching someone die of hunger and then getting on a plane out of the region well fed and happy. It can involve being blown to bits. The Lebanese...

About the big adventures of a little boy, his baby brother, and his family far away from the place called home. Monday, November 26, 2007. After 800 miles, turkey, pumpkin pie, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and a glimpse at the smoke of the Malibu wildfires, we are back on Jackson Street. Yair shook hands with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, met Spiderman (though he was deeply disappointed by the fact that his all-time favorite spoke English, not Hebrew like the real. Life Out East: April 2007
http://lifeouteast.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Back from Thailand. Being dad. Starting all over again. Monday, April 30, 2007. Serbia, through Hungary to Austria. If I thought Sophia was dull it was nothing compared to Belgrade. To be fair Belgrade has a reputation for having a seriously good nightlife but a lone parent with a three year old tends to miss out on such things. Afterwards we discovered that there was in fact an ATM in a different building in the station so we could only assume that it was a well organised little scam involving the curre...

Life Out East: May 2007

Back from Thailand. Being dad. Starting all over again. Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Trouble predicted in Bangkok. Well, what's happening in Thailand. Is democracy about to take another hit? All sources seem to be pointing toward Wednesday as being a day of chaos and possibly violence. So much so that the government are drafting in 13,000 soldiers and police to keep things calm. Hmm, surely such a vast number will only have the opposite effect. Trouble predicted in Bangkok. Posted by Life Out East at 05:20.

September 1, 2007. Bradley Burston Owes Me. 8212; lisoosh @ 9:26 am. On August 26th in an online conversation on GNblog. I made this series of comments:. 8211; And no, I don’t think small Jewish settlements should leave, as long as they are willing to live within the law in the territory they fall under. Of course, if they want to. So imagine my surprise when I saw this article titled “Let the Settlers stay Where They Are” in Haaretz. By noted columnist Bradley Burston and dated September 1st. For decade...

Green Building | Online Conversations
https://lisoosh.wordpress.com/2007/08/27/green-building
August 27, 2007. 8212; lisoosh @ 3:44 pm. I got all tied up in a huge argument on another blog and have exhausted myself (silly me). In the meantime, I will indulge in sharing another interest of mine – green architecture, as in environmentally friendly. This is a growing field that encompasses everything from the very high tech to a real back-to-basics approach, which is where I would like to start this ongoing topic. Front of the House. The living area by candlelight, does it get any cosier? Notify me ...

June 26, 2007. 8212; lisoosh @ 12:24 pm. Well, the blogosphere is full of armchair quarterbacking, analysing and predicting, all with pretty limited information. The only thing I see is that it is impossible to predict what will happen next. The only prediction that works is that no-one knows yet what is going to happen. August 20, 2007. Islam vs. Islamists: Voices from the Muslim Center. 8212; lisoosh @ 11:30 pm. Below is a trailer for the film. If you find the full version of the program online, be warned that there is a rather graphic segment showing women being stoned to death in the middle. PBS Censored Documentary – Islam Vs. Islamists – Trailer. So, what did I think? Also, the Danish/Syrian legislator was being hounded by radicals pronouncing that they would never accept democracy or human legislators (making laws...

August 21, 2007. 8212; lisoosh @ 9:40 pm. Is running a special, starting tonight entitled “God Warriors” featuring religious fundementalists from Judaism, Islam and Christianity. Right up my street but I don’t have CNN so will have someone tape it and will not be able to comment on it for a couple of days. If this stuff floats your boat though, you might want to take a look. 2 Comments ». Ooh, I saw it. Just goes to show that a massive budget doesn’t buy quality. Total disaster, IMO. Michael J. Totten.
