Saturday, August 16, 2014. Rila Monastery and Stob's Pyramids. When Mom was here in July, I wanted to show her what Bulgaria was like outside of Sofia. One of the day trips we took was to Rila Monastery and Stob's Pyramids. Here are some pictures of the monastery. It is truly breathtaking when you are there and surrounded by the Rila Mountains. Most people don't know much about this wonderful country I live in, but let me tell you, it's beauty, tradition, and history continue to WOW me! Village where the rose picking takes place. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Dubrovnik, Croatia - Game of Thrones filming locations! One of the major perks about being an international teacher is the chance to attend conferences in other countries! As I walked the streets and wandered around the city walls, I pictured familiar scenes from the show. In Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik was used to represent King's Landing and for some locations with Daenerys Targaryen. See if you recognize any of the sites and enjoy a walk through Dubrovnik! It was my first ball and we had a great time dressing up, eating good food, and dancing! Here are some pictures of the event.
