The Milennium Group of Christ the King Church in Liverpool raised the magnificent sum of 5,000 to buy much-needed baby-monitoring equipment for the Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. The village of Jaganarthpur, near the Indian border, has no other nearby medical facilities. Working through local contacts, we paid for the building and training of staff to open the clinic. The clinic has a full-time health worker and a nurse who goes once a week. On the days when she attends about 40-50 women trek in from nearby villages to have their pregnancies checked. Many people are still having to sleep outside as their houses were damaged or destroyed. And the monsoon as started.
