Sunday, May 31, 2015. So, I'm LOVING being part of Sahelia Bollywood dance group. We are having an AMAZING time learning Bollywood songs and performing them all over Tokyo. Here we are performing Bollykoi- A combination of Bollywood and Japanese dance. So grateful to be a part of this amazing dance and group of people. We performed in Yokohama for the Holi Festival and it was FABULOUS! These are amazing women with a passion for dance. Love them! Even when they are weird! Such posers, we are!

Hale Family Adventures: Ambassador Kennedy Shindig
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2015/01/ambassador-shindig-thingie.html
Monday, January 5, 2015. Hale Family (-1) in front of Ambassador Kennedy's personal Christmas tree. Say wha? Visiting with Santa's Helper and Mrs. Santa's Helper. Sisterly love on the "grounds" by the "pool". Various sightings of Ambassador Kennedy (OK call me a fan girl and get over it! And yes, I forced my children to place themselves strategically in the foreground in order to catch her in the background. You may now proceed to call child services. Self-satisfied, all-knowing look. Ethereal template&#...

Hale Family Adventures: It's beginning to look a little like Christmas!
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2015/01/its-beginning-to-look-little-like.html
Monday, January 5, 2015. It's beginning to look a little like Christmas! Although the compound still looks like an Autumn wonderland, the air is starting to get chilly and Christmas decorations are starting to appear. Nature is a bit behind the curve over here, I guess. We found a super talented Christmas tree located at the Mori Shopping Center. It turns colors and sparkles in many merry and multifarious ways. Naked baby toys that "may bring you happiness". I like the disclaimer. View my complete profile.

Hale Family Adventures: August 2014
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 31, 2014. Goodbyes, Good food, and Godzilla. So, just getting back to the blog after an unexpected trip to the U.S. due to the passing of my sweet Nana. Love you permanently, Nana! With the cousins after the funeral. Seriously, NO MORE PICTURES! In the Narita, Tokyo Airport- crazy Japanese shop. Flying home on a 787, there was a button for tinting the windows,. Instead of lowering the shade. Magic Japanese commode- very practical use of advanced technology. Even plays music. . . Nothing...

Hale Family Adventures: December 2014
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 25, 2014. The American School in Japan held a Winterfest and we signed up for the Kimono Photo Booth. We were treated like movie stars. They did our hair and make-up. Loved it! Fancy, Schmancy Hair! We chose our kimonos and they put them on us. It took about 1/2 hour for all of the wrapping and binding and layers. Thank heavens we had dressers to do it for us! It took them about 5 minutes to dress the guys. Lots of waiting around for them. . .Sorry! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Hale Family Adventures: February 2015
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 8, 2015. A Day at the Onsen- Japanese Hot Springs. Michael, Lisa, Mason, Bronwen, and Manon spent the day at a local Onsen- a Japanese spa "theme park". This is the main area where people congregate in their Yukata robes to eat ramen, drink tea, and decide what their next spa adventure will be. We all wore Yukatas- a Japanese robe- kind of like a casual kimono. Very comfy. Ramen and fries- great combo. Taking a break from the painful journey to foot Nirvana. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Hale Family Adventures: October 2014
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 13, 2014. Nice thing about being close to the Embassy- lunches out! Japanese Ramen- this ain't yo Mama's ramen. As big as my head- literally! But super tasty. I couldn't finish it all. It was the bowl that never ends. . . Later that day- blue skies. Craziness! Then the Typhoon hit inside. In the form of our boat shipment. Argghh. So much stuff, so little storage space. No more clothes for me, that's for sure! AND couldn't afford it. I mean it GAMES ANYONE? Then found these fabulous signs ...

Hale Family Adventures: November 2014
http://halelujiah.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. We were invited to a Diwali Festival in October. It was quite a cultural event/party. They had booths of Indian goods, ongoing performances of Bollywood and traditional Indian dancing and musical numbers- not to mention the delicious Indian food! And, of course, we had to dress for the occasion (at least the girls). Mango Lassis, butter chicken and kebabs. Yum! And, of course, we enjoyed the Naan bread. . .and a Naan bread-headed creature. No way. Too much cute stuff to buy!
