Ramblings About Running, Health and Happiness. How do I become a runner? Over the years lots of people have asked me how I became a runner. I was challenged by a friend to sign up for a ten mile race, never having ran more than a few meters in my life. I decided I was going to do it and I committed to training. Three months later I completed that 10 mile race and the rest is history. Start small but with a serious goal. Get a good pair of proper running shoes. Seek like minded friends or join a club.
