Under His Wing: June 2006
http://under-his-wing.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 05, 2006. The times of crossing borders without identification under the very nose of the customs officers are gone! Now to go to France I need to have my own passport. The toughest part was to get a picture that would satisfy the people at the passport office: I had to have my eyes open and my mouth closed and I couldn't smile or frown. Not an easy task when you are barely 1 month old! Thank you for remembering us in your prayers. Posted by Sam and Cecile @ 17:49. View my complete profile.

Under His Wing: September 2006
http://under-his-wing.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 28, 2006. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord" Job 1:21. Today I took Cecile up for one last flight. A flight marked by celebration, thanksgiving and grieving. As we flew up the Red Deer river canyon with tears in our eyes I was reminded of the sacrifice God had asked from Abraham (see Gen 22). Was it worth it? Was it worth working for 7 years to pay for my training? Was it worth leaving our families, our carreers? Wednesday, September 27, 2006.

Under His Wing: March 2007
http://under-his-wing.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2007. On my way home. As I write these lines I am sitting at the Bangkok airport "enjoying" a six-hour lay-over! In my last post I had mentioned that things were going well. The company was very interested in a partnership with us and we had started to work on the details of an agreement (routes to be flown, frequency of flights, hourly rates etc.). Things changed drastically after the meeting with the minister of defense. Is the door closed? Posted by Sam and Cecile @ 23:53. Where ti...

Tuesday, June 19, 2007. The Gift of Wings. When I got home last Saturday Jean ran towards me. On his back he was carrying a sign that read: Now that you have your wings again Dad, can you take me with you into the wild blue yonder? That’s how I found out that, through God’s grace, I was able to fly again. What a wonderful gift for Father’s Day! Thank you so much to all of you who have implored God on our behalf and have shown His compassion by walking with us through this time of trials.

Sunday, April 09, 2006. New Kid on the Blog! What better way to kick start our blog than by announcing you the birth of our baby boy! He was born today, Sunday April 30th, 2006 at 5:58am. He weighs a "whopping" 6.01 lbs (2.752 kg for the "metric" people out there) and measures just over 20 inches (51.5 cm). We named him Jean ("God has been gracious"). A couple of hours after the delivery. Posted by Sam and Cecile @ 18:37. Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. View my complete profile. My Utmost for His Highest.

Under His Wing: February 2007
http://under-his-wing.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 05, 2007. I was dismissed from the hospital Wednesday evening and am very thankful to be home with Cecile and Jean. As I write these lines Cecile went to the airport to pick up her Mom who offered to come and help us for a few weeks. What a relief! I’ve been wondering what else I could tell you at this point as we are still dealing with loss, sadness and fatigue. I broke up in tears. Yes, God was silent, but He was not still! Thank you for your continued prayers. The big issue is his fac...

Thursday, January 25, 2007. This afternoon, while I was trying to find my way around the Foothills hospital, I came across a quote I encourage you to meditate upon:. Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow it empties today of its strengh". Posted by Sam and Cecile @ 16:06. Tuesday, January 23, 2007. Back in Three Hills. We are back in Three Hills, tired but thankful for the 2 weeks we were able to spend at the MAF-US headquarters in. Thank you for your prayers. On Thursday we will go to. I will never...

Sunday, April 15, 2007. When we left Three Hills last Sunday, it was cold and we still had snow. Here in Nampa, Idaho spring is already in full swing. The grass is green, the trees are blooming and the temperature is up in the 2-digit range. However we are not here to enjoy the climate but to attend two more weeks of training at the MAF US headquarters. Posted by Sam and Cecile @ 14:36. Three Hills, Alberta, Canada.
