The Gardener of Good and Evil. Monday, October 26, 2009. Datura brings all the. Bees to the yard. So while I haven't been actively blogging for months- aside from complaining about the drought and heat on Twitter- I have been taking pictures of the interesting things that have been happening around my yard. For instance, I knew that the datura in my yard was a favorite plant of bees and moths and other insects, but a certain morning back in August was like stumbling into a bee bacchanal:.

Something About Blooming and Butterflies: June 2006

Something About Blooming and Butterflies. All work and no play? Not in the springtime! Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Chris offers a cornucopia via photo. On his first night back, he and Annabella ate pizza from the freezer and veggies from the garden. There are record temps at home, so everything is crispy and already I'm hearing how arduous it is to water everyday. And yet he persists. Posted by Vivé at 9:45 PM. Monday, June 05, 2006. Something About Blooming and Butterflies. All work and no play? Not in the springtime! Monday, April 30, 2007. I haven't been gardening long enough to have beds full of plants shared with me, or at least I didn't think I had been. The wonderful gardening tradition of passing along divided irises and wildflower seeds and drought-loving natives gone crazy in the ground is still new to me. She thought about it and said, "Yes, I did have a jasmine." We realized she'd given it to me when she moved away. One e...

Mi casa. su casa. You want to make God laugh? Tell him your plans." from the movied "Bella". Thursday, June 26, 2008. I spent all last weekend planting lantana and zinnia's in my front yard only for this little bastard to come and chew them up! Well fast forward to Monday night. Memo and I are sitting down having dinner and I'm looking out of our back door onto the patio. Out of no where out hops the beast (yeah, that's what I'll call him! He gets startled and hops over to the lantana under the tree and ...

The Great Experiment: July 2006
http://experimentalgarden.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
All about an Austin garden whose keeper has no idea what she's doing. Thursday, July 20, 2006. Well, not EVERTHING is dying. As I type, it's 79 degrees outside and 81% humidity. The high today is 99 (which is a lot better than 103, if you want to compare.). There was a light sprinkle this morning, but not enough to make any sort of a difference. The weather people are predicting that next week will be a bit cooler. Meaning the mid-90's. Oooh, what a refreshing change. Links to this post. I believe that t...

The Gardener of Good and Evil: April 2010
http://gardenerofgoodandevil.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
The Gardener of Good and Evil. Friday, April 16, 2010. Bloom Day, April 2010. I'm alive, and so is my garden! In fact, I can safely say that my garden has never looked so good. After the last two years of drought, it amazes me how quickly everything filled in and bounced back. Even the roses are covered in flowers despite the fact that I barely fertilized and completely missed the window to cut everything back properly. Here's rose "Gruss an Aachen" tempting me to take up watercolor painting again:.
