Exploring Austin's South 1st Street. El Pollo Rico – Chicken Al Carbon at Stassney and South 1st. This unassuming place on the NW corner of South 1st and Stassney was one of the first places I tried. I’d driven past it a number of times, each time with the seductive smell of chicken al carbon wafting into my car. One evening, on an impulse, I pulled into one of the two drive-thru lanes.
