Friday, December 7, 2012. For Christmas, the Children's Min at our Chuch took the kids to a Girl's Home to do a program for the girls that live there. Aashini LOVED singing for them :). Monday, January 27, 2014. Piano Recital - Aashini :). Aashini and her "Little Mozarts" Class had a recital last week :) Aashini has had fun in this class :) They learn to play the piano, but they also learn to "hear" the music/rhythms/beats, etc. Here they are doing a dance to one of their songs. They do different motions for different parts of the song :). Aashini had two solos. Her first was "Hot Cross Buns" :). Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Comic Con - Day 2 - The Kiddos. The kiddos love Comic Con! They love getting dressed up the most :) haha! On this day, the girls got a little more creative with their costumes. Diya wanted to be Mayday (Spidergirl). her outfit cracked me up! She said: "I want to be Spidergirl. but I don't want to wear those pants! So she improvised :) haha! Aashini wanted to be Princess Leia (even though she has no idea who that is! Diya wasn't into drawing. here she is enjoying herself :).

Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Freedom Fighter - Rani Lakshmibai. The other week at school, the kids were supposed to come to school dressed like a Freedom Fighter. We decided to dress Aashini up as the super cool Rani Lakshmi Bai! Doesn't she look tough? This is a picture of the original Rani Lakshmi Bai. She was a queen and one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. She is a symbol of resistance to the rule of the British East India Company. This picture makes me laugh :). Out on the Town.

I've been working hard to instill a love for puzzles in the kids. This is one that Jack and I put together this morning. It's a giant T-Rex puzzle! I think it looks like t-Rex wants to eat his head! Tuesday morning at 4:30am I am headed for Jinja, Uganda. I will be there 17 days with a gifted group of 11 people. Together we will be a part of a starting a new church in a village called Bulanga.
