We see some pretty amazing things out our 17th floor window, children playing at the park, older women doing tai chi in the mornings, and people sitting on park benches just talking about their day. After patiently waiting and many changes, we are finally able to start the latest chapter in our life. The beauty of this this culture is that they never come to your house empty handed, but more importantly, they always bring food, specifically fruit. Last night, we were honored to have the owner of the language institute, whom we will fondly refer to as "Dr. G" (and we also, as fondly, greet with a loud, "YO "G", WAZZUP? X-Games at the local mall. This guy was really good and the real thing.

Saturday, May 15, 2010. Da da da daaaa.shot day! On Friday we had our 1st shot day. There is a total of 3 while we are here in Virginia. As a family we got a total of 10 shots. Parker, Benjamin and Lizzie each got one, Timothy and Ray got two and I was the lucky one.I got 3! Out of all the kids Lizzie was the most scared to get her shots. We were thinking one of us was going to have to hold her down.(we had to one time when she got her blood drawn! After the kids Ray and I went and we didn't cry at all!

We have been home now for about 2 and half weeks, yet something the passport control people said to us as we were entering back into the Untied States stills rings in my ears.Were do you live? Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Okay between 4:00 and 5:00. One of my children who shall remain nameless went #2 in the upstairs bathroom only to find out after the fact that that toilet is not working. The toilet tank will not fill up with water unless I turn the sink on, but it has to be hot water because for some reason the cold water will not turn on. Lizzie tripped over a large rolling backpack as she walked out of the kitchen that she knew was on the floor because she had stepped over it while walking into the kitchen. Sunday, July 25, 2010. There is also tons of sunflowers here. They are grown for the oil and I think also for the seeds. I tried to take a picture of them, but we were driving so it didn't turn out very well, but here it is anyway!
