Sunday, May 6, 2012. I've been falling off the wagon lately with blogging, I'll try to get back on track :-) We went to Big Bend. National Park for a long weekend about a week ago. It's a very remote, scenic, middle-of-nowhere area by the Mexico border about 7 hours west of San Antonio and a few hours east of El Paso. It was really nice to just get away for a few days, and with no cell service it was great to be completely disconnected. Coming in to Big Bend. Poor animals.. The trail to Hot Springs.

Monday, July 12, 2010. Eric and Kate Visit. This weekend Scott and Eric turned 30 and Eric and Kate were nice enough to come down and visit us for the weekend. Obligatory picture in front of the Alamo. Saturday we went to Mustang Beach, which was covered in seaweed from Hurricane Alex but still a great time. There was a huge school of mullet swimming all around us for awhile but even though we were thisclose they always avoided us if we reached out and tried to grab them. Monday, July 5, 2010.

Sunday, October 31, 2010. Saturday morning we decided to hike up Enchanted Rock, which is something we had been meaning to do for about two years. It's a rock formation about two hours away, north of Fredericksburg, which gives beautiful views of the hill country. About a third of the way up. This was the incline on the top half. Monday, June 21, 2010. We went to Singleton's, reputedly the best seafood place in Jacksonville, for lunch one day. On a previous visit a few years ago Scott had gotten a tour of their fishing boat. The original owner of Singleton's (it's now owned by his son, we think) had a hobby of building wooden boats. There is a whole room full of them, easily a hundred of varying shapes and sizes, on display off the restaurant. Very cool! The pier goes quite a ways out into the water. Sunday, June 6, 2010.
