A journey in photography - capturing the world I live in... (by southliving)
Sent – a kind of end … – my world
https://southlivingblog.wordpress.com/2015/01/14/sent-a-kind-of-end
A journey in photography – capturing the world I live in…. Sent a kind of end …. Date: January 14, 2015. As I’m tracking my assessment material to be delivered to OCA HQ, I can’t help but take a look at the material every now and then, just to make sure everything I’ve sent is all right… a bit of a way to drive myself crazy, because now there really isn’t much I can do about anything. Shall I mention / question simulacrum here again? Anyway… I’m off on a tangent here…. But I also wanted to close this cha...

A journey in photography – capturing the world I live in…. The (screen) shot that caused a spark again…. Date: March 28, 2015. Text: 27 and 28/03/2015. Yes, it’s been such a long time! I arrived in SA in middle February, and had a few weeks to get back into the southern climate, and speaking Afrikaans again. The weeks were spent at my sister’s in Strand, with a few pleasant walks to the beach, and trips to the stables where she keeps Rooney, her retired race horse. I still don’t know if my going ba...
‘Truth is still life’ – my world
https://southlivingblog.wordpress.com/2014/12/15/truth-is-still-life
A journey in photography – capturing the world I live in…. 8216;Truth is still life’. Date: December 15, 2014. Gallery visit: 04/12/2014 text: 15/12/2014. I find myself in a very strange place at the moment… the course and assessment material is done, and if I can find that thin foam that B&Q used to stock, I can wrap and pack it all. But…. in my head it is still not really finished. This will probably only be an online entry, since the Log is already printed, but I can always add to the PDF folder.

A journey in photography – capturing the world I live in…. Printed books and a photo teach morning / walk with the boys. Apollo and the lion. Date: December 9, 2014. Text: 09/12/2014 – updated: 10/12/2014. I guess I am actually done with Advanced! Today I went to pick up the second reprint of the books that would be going in for assessment, which means that all I still have to do is to tidy up the digital version to go onto the USB. But even that is nearly done. Oh well… let’s move on…. On Sunday morning...
On Shore – my world
https://southlivingblog.wordpress.com/2015/07/03/on-shore
A journey in photography – capturing the world I live in…. Wstad to lstad dscf9815. Date: July 3, 2015. Here follows a mind-dump, unstructured and probably not thought-out thoroughly, but I have the urge to get things out of my head. But first, sorry I’ve been away, I have an excuse… I was in Wolmaransstad. That said, this post is pretty much exactly about the time I spent in that dreaded place. And on Stephen Shore. Before we go on…. If all goes well, and the house gets sold eventually, this trip to the...

As the course material says, “. The image was taken a few weeks ago). Nearest Far Away Place.

Art Photography: April 2011
http://photographyselina.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 April 2011. I was in Perth (Australia) for work a few weeks ago and took the opportunity to take some street photographs. I used my point and shoot camera (Canon Powershot S95), a fabulous little camera which allowed me to be fairly subtle and less in-the-face than the big 30D. It was quite challenging taking photos of strangers in their rush hour heading home, but it was fun too, particularly playing with the strong contrasting light. Girl at a bus stop (challenging bright light behind).
