welsh buildings: December 2012
http://welshbuildings.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
A record of my journey around South Wales. Monday, 10 December 2012. This house was highlighted in the Aberdare townscape survey as having extravagant render detailing and being an example of the late nineteenth century trend towards middle class homes with bay windows. http:/ cadw.wales.gov.uk/docs/cadw/publications/urban character aberdare EN.pdf. Unfortunately over zealous repairs to the bay window roof led to the collapse of the bay and its replacement with a plastic one. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A record of my journey around South Wales. Saturday, 16 November 2013. W front of Singleton Abbey. The campus of Swansea University contains an interesting array of buildings covering 200 years of architecture. The oldest structure, built-in 1784, is Singleton Abbey which was purchased in 1817 by John Vivian. Because of the war, work stopped on the campus and the next set of buildings were not constructed until the late 1950's. These include the Natural Science building, completed in 1961 and which i...

welsh buildings: February 2012
http://welshbuildings.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A record of my journey around South Wales. Thursday, 23 February 2012. This is the first view you get of the church when entering the village of Clyro from the A483. It was almost totally rebuilt in 1852/3 on the site of an existing church. The only remnant of the original building is the lower part of the tower which is gently battered. The walled churchyard is more or less circular in shape, apparently an indicator of a fairly ancient site. Interior view of the nave looking towards the East window.
