Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Sunday, May 09, 2004. The new job is keeping me ultra-busy! I don't know yet what I think of being a manager, but it sure is constant - just lots of problems and things that need attention cropping up all the time - and it's therefore difficult to come to grips with the real work that needs doing as well. Other than that, we did the usual games and I made balloon animals close to going home time. That has unexpectedly appeared and I ...

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Friday, July 09, 2004. Yesterday, I took the day off and we all went into Melbourne Zoo. We're members of Friends of the Zoos, so didn't have to pay, but the queues were still long. It does have an amazing ability to absorb large numbers of people pretty effectively though. I'm still chipping away at the Michal Dutkiewicz interview, but it is quite involved, as I'm including some notes he wrote on Verity Aloeha. His story in Eureka.

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Friday, July 24, 2015. The Walkies of Progress. This spin on Zallinger's "March of Progress" has been on my mind and it took a few breaks to sketch out. The beasts are pretty much a bear-dog (amphicyon), a dire wolf, a dingo, a basenji, and a pomeranian. I still have doubts about publicly posting this Sketchbook stuff, but I'm being selective. This one gets its concept across okay, I think. Posted by Ian T. @ 3:58 pm. Heroes and Vill...

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Tuesday, February 15, 2005. Hidden rabbit, drawing pirates and Kiki's Delivery Service. The rabbit had disappeared when Jill and the kids got home. They searched for a while and then remembered that I'd said I thought it had been trying to get into the base of our bed - sure enough, when they looked underneath, there was a rabbit sized bulge! After a lot of calling, they managed to get the bunny to come out. Oh yeah, as reported here.

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Friday, April 16, 2004. There's so much to do, I haven't had time to scratch, let alone Blog! Today is my last day in this job, so I'm rushing through work that needs doing trying to tidy up the paperwork, which is everywhere! I've worked further on my Oztaku. Submission, but they don't seem to know if #2 will be offset or digitally printed, and it makes a big difference to how I'll finish the artwork! Dave Kerr's latest Worlds Away.

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Friday, August 13, 2004. I can't seem to get a chance to write in here lately, so miss saying stuff like:. I saw kangaroos here one morning as I was turning into the Uni. Pretty amazing, as they were across the road near the Halls of Residence and not near much in the way of bush. They seemed relaxed, with one lying down and even a joey grazing with them. R often writes to me on the email. Tomorrow I'm going to Manifest. The Day of t...

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Friday, July 24, 2015. Exhibition - Childers Festival. I have a 3 page comic in the latest issue of Oi Oi Oi! Magazine - issue #5. This is apparently a special issue and won't be distributed through newsagents, but is available as part of a four issue subscription from the ComicOz Store. However, if you can make it to the Childers Festival. Posted by Ian T. @ 3:28 pm. Comments: Post a Comment. Selected posts and tags. Recent cat albu...

Comics, conservation, music, children's literature, painting and stuff. Saturday, January 29, 2005. The first part of this was meant to be in yesterday's post, but the computer froze and wouldn't let me edit it, so here it is a day later. On Thursday, well-known local comics writer/editor/publisher, David Bird (of The Fox. Gave me a copy of his script for a story in The Ink. Someone once said that all writing falls into the pattern of either The Iliad. Old, though some days I feel it :). I'd felt it so n...
