Monday, April 18, 2005. Things have been pretty busy here. I took Friday off so I could get some stuff done. Of course, I didn't get everything done that I had planned but such is life. Had my drawing class on Saturday. We learned about "atmospheric perspective." This is where the range of values you use get narrower as objects move further away in your drawing. Pretty tricky. Sunday, November 21, 2004. I got the Wacom tablet and it totally rocks! But, even better than the tablet and pen is the software it came with. It came with a demo (30 day) of C*orel P*ainter. Oh.My.God! This software is amazing! I am just amazed at how it not only looks like watercolor or oils or pen but it actually behaves like the different media! Friday, October 14, 2005. Artists not trying to be Artists. The image is a drawing by a man by the name of Eugene Andolsek whose work is being shown at American Folk Museum. In New York in an exhibition called "Obsessive Drawing." I'm not sure how I came across it but it caught my eye because it reminds me of the kind of artwork I do when I just want to put pen to paper and just make it up as I go along. Monday, October 25, 2004. Last week I wrote a very long post and guess what? It's nowhere to be found? Things have been busy. I discovered Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. A few months ago and I am completely smitten. They make the most wonderful perfume oils ever! The forum for the lab is also a wonderful place and it has been sucking up a lot of my internet time. Sunday, June 12, 2005. Jackson Pollock - Love and Death on Long Island (1999). I watched this last night. Just in terms of a documentary I didn't think it was that great. It's only about 45 minutes long. Apparently it was produced for the BBC. Most of it is comprised of artist friends of his and the woman who was in the car with him when he died talking about him. Wednesday, January 26, 2005. First page of random sketches done today. Did them in this order:. Sponge Bob and other little character while watching the cartoon this morning. Unfortunately the cartoon finished before I could do the arms and legs.did one arm but don't know if it is anything like it should be. My coffee cup on coaster, complete with coffee drips. The tape dispenser.Sparkle also sketched this. It didn't have tape pulled out but I added some anyway! Someone mentioned a carrot so I drew one.
