Wido Wanderings: June 2008
http://thewidos.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 13, 2008. Sweden: Stockholm Gamla Stan. Stockholm, Sweden, we discovered, is a city of many islands. The oldest part is Gamla Stan where the residence for Swedish royalty remains today. This is the historic harbor. Above is the plaza outside the Nobel Peace Prize museum. We stopped for a moment to check out the amazing book store. The narrow cobblestone streets in this part of town are peaceful and picturesque. This historic Lutheran Church is beautiful inside and out. Well, apparently not.

Wido Wanderings: Rhodes, Greece: The Apostle Paul stopped here
http://thewidos.blogspot.com/2008/11/rhodes-greece-apostle-paul-stopped-here.html
Friday, November 14, 2008. Rhodes, Greece: The Apostle Paul stopped here. From ancient days, Rhodes has been an important island in the Medeteranean. One of the ancient wonders of the world was at this port. The Apostle Paul stopped here during his journeys. I felt like I was walking in the footsteps of history as I wandered over worn cobblestone. We saw a couple of churches with beautiful icons. One was an early church dating back to about 300 AD. View my complete profile. Cats of the Mediterranean.

http://thewidos.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2008. Mosel River in the Summer. Grapes grow all along the Mosel River. It is so relaxing to drive, bike or hike on a Sunday afternoon along the Mosel. Cochem castle is always lovely. We saw Beilstein from the other side of the river. It looked intriguing. A new place to explore. Bernkastle remains a favorite place. We try to go there often. Though busy on the weekends, we like to go on a weeknight. We grab an ice cream cone and wander the town. Sunday, August 3, 2008. We found a great...

Friday, April 18, 2008. Bob recently married a couple at a castle. It was a fairytale place to get married. It was my pleasure to be permitted to take photos in this lovely setting and post them here. When we got home I noticed Bob wore an interesting t-shirt under his shirt, appropriate to the occasion. It said "Loved the wedding. Invite me to the marriage. - God.". Http:/ www.eifel-exklusive.de/ en/08-restaurants/01-burg-rittersdorf/burg-rittersdorf-1.html. Saturday, April 12, 2008. Wido Wanderings: Bari, Italy: Where St. Nicholas is buried
http://thewidos.blogspot.com/2008/11/bari-italy-where-st-nicholas-is-buried.html
Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Bari, Italy: Where St. Nicholas is buried. The old town of Bari, Italy is a simple walled city dating back hundreds of years. The streets are narrow with arches. Laundry hangs across the passageways. We walked along the wall to enter. There are a lot of churches in the old town. We also saw quite a few nuns walking around during the lunch hour.
