Saturday, August 15, 2009. This series of steps was built in Maple Canyon between the equestrian trailhead and Whiting campground. Work was funded by a state grant and labor was provided by an Eagle Scout with the assistance of Kyle and Talley from our USFS crew. Good work guys. The project goal here was to improve the approach to the bridge on the downhill side. Previously, a 12" step at the bridge end made it challenging for bikers and horses to ride over. Hiking the North Peak trail on Mount Nebo.

Friday, July 16, 2010. This is a new sign installation for the Loafer Mountain trail, which leads to the Bennie Creek trail. This sticker format is our standard for marking trails. We stopped to say "Hi" to the Dispersed Recreation crew. They were improving a post and rail fence around the Payson Lakes Guard Station. These folks do some good work and are a fun group to be around. Purple Salsify or Oysterplant- Tragopogon porrifloius. Oregon checkermallow- Sidalcea oregana. Monkey flower- Mimulus gattatus.

Cleaning out debris from the river to prevent future stream bank erosion. We made cuts like this the full length of the tree. Then followed through with the pulasky and broke out the pieces.
