Saturday, July 14, 2012. A Whopping Yarn Shopping List (and Slurpees). Somehow whenever I go to the craft store I find myself lost in a pile of wondrous hobbies. I needed a list or one way or another I will forget something or begin to stack clearance fibers into my basket. So I dug out my handy dandy embroidery floss organizer that I had never used and put a scrap of each yarn that I needed onto it. Whopping yarn shopping list: Put yarn that you need on floss organizer. The 18 and 15 year olds were not ...

Many of them are still only drafts so please be patient :). Red worsted weight yarn. Dc, (12 st). Rnd 5...

Joy 2 Crochet: Crochet Butterfly Appliqué
http://joy2crochet.blogspot.com/2012/02/crochet-butterfly-applique.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. So after trying (and failing) a few different butterfly patterns, which were too small, had two sets of wings or wouldn't lay flat, I finally wrote my own pattern. The pattern I wrote uses a very similar technique to this pattern. Which was too small. (Note: the original pattern is on Ravelry so if you're not a member you may not be able to access it). Here is the pattern I wrote:. Using an I/9 (5.5mm) crochet hook and worsted weight yarn. Make magic loop, chain 3,. As I rec...

Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Girly Safari Animal Baby Hats: #1 Zebra (3-6mo). This pattern was a ton of fun to write and I was so giddy with how it came out. I took it to show my older brother who happened to be in the middle of playing video games. Note that for most guys pink is pink, purple is purple and blue is blue etc. there is no light pink or dark pink, only PINK. They didn't know how much I had already changed in the pattern to make sure it did not. Please tell me this does not look like a pig.

Tuesday, May 3, 2011. More Crocheted Fleece Baby Blankets. This blanket has a simple dc edge but as you may notice, there's crocheting down the middle. And the dc all the way around as normal. Instantly I thought of my jungle fleece, this will be perfect, this will "make" the blanket, this reminds me of the zebra in the print.I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED! So I just put a very simple double crochet around the edge after doing the base stitch. I just used Red Heart Baby Clouds. Links to this post. These cut...

Friday, July 8, 2011. Cozy Cozy Wrist Warmers. What keeps your hands warm, allows your fingers to be free, and you can crochet? They're cozy and give the flexibility that regular bulky gloves wouldn't. What's really cool though is that you can crochet them! Big surprise.Okay you probably already knew that and so did I, but what I didn't know was that they were so easy! I forgot to mention you can make them for every occasion! Links to this post. Monday, November 29, 2010. How to Do a Chain Stitch. The chain stitch is the simplest of all crochet stitches. I have yet to find a crochet pattern that does not include a chain stitch. The chain stitch is used to turn at the end of rows and on the base of many crochet projects. The abbreviation for this stitch is "ch" and the abbreviation for a "yarn over" is "yo". Thursday, March 15, 2012. Ravelry Pattern Hodgepodge Butterfly Afghan. When I heard that my cousin and his wife were going to decorate their nursery with butterflies I began "favorite-ing" oodles of butterfly patterns on Ravelry. I LOVE butterflies, and I wish more parents would use them in their daughter's nursery theme. When I first saw the pattern for this afghan. I also used a different butterfly pattern. Because I couldn't get the one from the afghan pattern to lay flat. After I saw this edging.
