Granny Bowers’ Story. His son Haemon Bennett ran the resort for 45 years from 1920 to 1965. The dairy farm operation was discontinued in early 1940s and the hotel was sold in 1965. Granny Bowers’ Story. John Everbeck owned one of the first sawmills near the mouth of the Kashe River, (sometimes called muley sawmill) at the first rapids on the Kah-she. Michael Clipsham had the timber for his first house on Muskoka Road sawn there, and presumably also for the house at Sparrow Lake.
