Chris Holden .com. Work » MediaFed News Reader. This project, for St Saviours. Was to create an online news aggregator. The company required that visitors could create their own user account and manage their own list of feeds. Users needed to be able to create a favourite feeds list which was displayed to them when they logged in to their account. From the favourites list they could read updated items, mark items and feeds as read, update a feed and add/remove feeds from the list.

29 November, 2010. Before I had children, I had a flat stomach. Well, almost. I never actually had a FLAT stomach, more like a kind of little bubble let’s say. But I could suck it in really well. For ages. Until I had a beer, then I’d forget, and just flap about down there. And I had shapely thighs. Because sausage shaped is a legitimate shape. And a pert bottom. It could hold up a pencil. And probably the notebook to go with it. Somewhere there was a black woman who wanted her booty back. 2 October, 2010.

Only mad dogs and Englishmen (go out in snow). Only mad dogs and Englishmen (go out in snow). 22 December, 2010. The recent snowfall in England has successfully done its job once again, in bringing pretty much most of Great Britain to a complete standstill. Airports closed, network rail halted, and roads gridlocked with abandoned cars. Which of course, is why we found ourselves driving through Saturday’s blizzard, both dressed in wedding finery, and going nowhere fast. And that’s were we stopped. Eventua...

6 January, 2013. One of the things I love most about Australia is the unique flora and fauna that I’ve grown up with. 29 November, 2010. I’ve spent my whole life being perpetually disappointed in my body. It just tends to fail to completely satisfy me. It’s the underachieving equivalent of the X-factor contestant who is the first one voted off the live show. It almost – but not quite – gets to perfection. And I had shapely thighs. Because sausage shaped is a legitimate shape. And in short, I had dancers legs – which is a not so subtle way of saying my calf muscles could probably crack walnuts. And I loved my body. And y...

More gin, Brown Owl? More gin, Brown Owl? 4 August, 2010. After waiting for a year and a half after leaving Rainbows, my 8 (nearly 9) year old has finally got a place in Brownies. She’ll have all of a year there before having to move up to Guides because the waiting list was so long – and I worry now if she’ll be able to go smoothly from Brownies to Guides, or will there be another gap like this. Er… overkill much? I may have a background in the system, but I’ve never been the leader of a group bef...

Don’t feed the wildlife. Don’t feed the wildlife. 6 January, 2013. Last year I broke my own unspoken rule about being an observer rather than an interferer to the wildlife around us. I tossed my foxy friend a scrap of ham, and she immediately put me on her free hand-out list. They certainly look similar despite their various colouring shifts and scars on snouts can heal and disappear. But this fox I recognise. From the start she was never peturbed by the noise of my camera, and in fact would allow me...
