Capturing: October 2011
http://capturing-rachel.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 22, 2011. The flight into Birmingham went fine, technically speaking. My body had a different reaction since my nausea medication wore off before landing and I definitely turned white in my face before sticking my head between my knees and breathing like a birthing woman through the last 20 minutes of the flight. It is very, very good to be almost home. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All I have seen teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen.". The Ones I Read. Have a great we...

Capturing: September 2012
http://capturing-rachel.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 24, 2012. The ocean floor is a holy place. God is in the waves. God is most certainly in this coffee. I will undoubtedly leave this place with the smell of yeast and sugar woven into my burgundy sweater like a monogram, and I will wear it proudly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Capturing: February 2013
http://capturing-rachel.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 9, 2013. I don't know why, but being outside on a giant playground and around like-minded individuals puts a necessary pep in my step. The jury is out, and the verdict is: I just might be an extrovert. Don't let anyone tell you that your dreams aren't important or achievable. Please, I beg you, don't ever stop dreaming or searching for the truth. Holding on to this with locked fists. Sunday, February 3, 2013. Day 18: productivity: the best punishment. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Getting our archery on. Gabriel has taken up a new hobby and I couldn't be more pleased. After lots of research and waiting, he finally bought a take-down recurve bow and decided to learn the art of shooting a bow. He now has two friends who he shoots once or twice a week, but last week he asked me to come along try it out for myself. Since it's a dream of mine to play a supporting role in a medieval action/romance/epic film, here I am getting my archery skills on. We spent the ...

Capturing: day 16: santa monica
http://capturing-rachel.blogspot.com/2013/02/day-16-santa-monica.html
Sunday, February 3, 2013. Day 16: santa monica. Today is unbelievable. It's 76 degrees in the middle of Winter and I'm in Santa Monica while my husband has to watch out for black ice on the roads back in Switzerland. I do empathize. I truly do. I try not to rub it in when we talk because I know he is also suffering from a Vitamin D-3 deficiency like myself. Just another week and he'll be here with me. I feel strong, I am in the sun, and I all I want to do is fly. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Have ...

Capturing: April 2012
http://capturing-rachel.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 6, 2012. The hill is quiet now. Not still but quiet. For the first time all day there is no noise. The clamor began to subside when the darkness—that puzzling midday darkness—fell. Like water douses a fire, the shadows doused the ridicule. No more taunts. No more jokes. No more jesting. And, in time, no more mockers. One by one the onlookers turned and began the descent. His voice was raspy, scratchy. Reflections of the torch flame danced in his wide eyes. “My God! And apparently it did....
