Life with Aspergers: Aspies and Sexuality
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2008/01/aspies-and-sexuality.html
Monday, January 21, 2008. A word of warning: This post may cover adult topics - though really nothing "juicy" so it's probably safe. You may want to read it carefully before allowing minors to look at it. In the last week, prompted by some "off the wall" questions, I have been reading a lot of discussions about aspies and sexuality. I am amazed at the opinions of otherwise respectable people in the medical profession. I have found a whole bunch of statements including;. All autistic people are gay. One d...

Life with Aspergers: Why Do Aspies Suddenly Back-Off in Relationships? (Part 1)
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2009/10/why-do-aspies-suddenly-back-off-in.html
Thursday, October 29, 2009. Why Do Aspies Suddenly Back-Off in Relationships? One of the most frequent questions I'm asked is why an aspie (or suspected aspie) suddenly goes "cold" and backs off on an otherwise good relationship. It's a difficult question and the answers would vary considerably from one person to another and would depend greatly on the circumstances. Nevertheless, I'll try to point out some possibilities. Since the aspergers diagnosis is based on purely subjective criteria, it's not unli...

Life with Aspergers: An online Asperger's Quiz
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2007/10/online-aspergers-quiz.html
Tuesday, October 9, 2007. An online Asperger's Quiz. Wondering if you've got Asperger's, well, wonder no more. I was directed to an online Aspie Quiz which is quite good. The quiz is at. Http:/ www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php. I had a look at the other scores and based on rough estimates, I'm in the top 15% of people with Aspergers. 100 is still aspergers, so 161 is reasonably high. April 4, 2008 at 3:24 PM. I got 193(AS)and 10(NT). April 21, 2008 at 4:12 PM. July 7, 2008 at 4:28 AM. I found it difficult...

Life with Aspergers: Where to Now? Medication and Paediatricians and Teenagers with Asperger's Syndrome
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2015/07/where-to-now-medication-and.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Medication and Paediatricians and Teenagers with Asperger's Syndrome. We've been taking our kids to see the same developmental paediatrician for a decade now and sadly he's moving to a less accessible place. Happily, he's such as great doctor that we'll still go the extra mile (miles) for him but our last visit did prompt the discussion;. Ritalin into the Future. Rather than simply discuss "where are we going to get the Ritalin from now", I wanted to go back to our original thoug...

Life with Aspergers: The Mysterious Female Aspie
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2008/08/mysterious-female-aspie.html
Sunday, August 10, 2008. The Mysterious Female Aspie. There's a lot of evidence to suggest that aspergers is much more common in males than in females. This is, at least in part, due to the nature of human genetic makeup. Men have an XY chromosome structure while women have XX. If one or more partners is genetically damaged or "different", there exists, in females, the ability to "repair" the genetic differences using DNA from the other X chromosome. Such a facility isn't available to men. Asperger’...

Life with Aspergers: What does "low muscle tone" (Hyptonia) mean for Aspies?
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-does-low-muscle-tone-hyptonia-mean.html
Tuesday, April 15, 2008. What does "low muscle tone" (Hyptonia) mean for Aspies? Although it's not part of the official diagnostic criteria for Aspergers, low muscle tone is nevertheless an condition strongly associated with Aspergers. Why is it so Confusing? When most people hear about "low muscle tone" they assume that it has something to do with bodybuilding - I certainly did at first. This is particularly confusing since many newly diagnosed aspies are children and it's quite uncommon to see any.

Life with Aspergers: Movie Review: Eagle vs Shark (2007)
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2015/08/movie-review-eagle-vs-shark-2007.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Movie Review: Eagle vs Shark (2007). Eagle vs Shark is a film which never actually mentions the words "Asperger's syndrome" but is clearly about two individuals with Asperger's meeting and and falling in love. In fact, it takes the whole genetics thing so far that at times, it feels like nearly everyone in the film has it. Eagle vs Shark (2007). Is a Kiwi (New Zealand) film which is at times very awkward to watch, It's described as a comedy but feels like a comedy/drama/art film.

Life with Aspergers: Book Review: “Loving Someone with Asperger’s Syndrome” by Cindy N Ariel
http://life-with-aspergers.blogspot.com/2012/03/book-review-loving-someone-with.html?spref=bl
Thursday, March 15, 2012. Book Review: “Loving Someone with Asperger’s Syndrome” by Cindy N Ariel. Over the years, I’ve read quite a few relationship books, some have been good, some were bad and some were truly great. Most of these books concentrated on neurotypical couples but I never really thought about how wrong that was until I read “Loving Someone with Asperger’s Syndrome”. 8220;Loving Someone with Asperger’s Syndrome” has a lot of information packed within its pages. For a start, ...Within many o...

Life with Aspergers: Definitions and Disclaimers
