Speedrocket Film: Review: 21 Jump Street (2012)
http://speedrocketfilm.blogspot.com/2012/03/review-21-jump-street-2012.html
Monday, 19 March 2012. Review: 21 Jump Street (2012). I have been guilty of trashing on Hollywood for recycling the same old story over and over, and have ragged on remakes and reboots. But sometimes these reboots just click, and 21 Jump Street. Is one of those films. Perhaps it is because I have never seen the show the film is based off of that I enjoyed it so much, or maybe it’s because it doesn’t matter if the story has been done before, as long as it is funny. When they mess up an arrest because Schm...

Speedrocket Videogames: Review: Dirt 3 (2011)
http://speedrocketvideo.blogspot.com/2012/03/review-dirt-3-2012.html
Monday, 19 March 2012. Review: Dirt 3 (2011). As an avid racing game enthusiast I was not expecting a whole lot out of this game. It seems like Dirt 2. Just came out not that long ago so I found it really hard to believe that much had changed between then and now. Within my first real rally though, a smile started to come across my face and I must admit this game is fun. Has done a great job in letting the player decide. The track design and replay-ability is what makes this game quite a gem though. ...

Speedrocket Film: Feature: Oscar Recap
http://speedrocketfilm.blogspot.com/2012/02/feature-oscar-recap.html
Wednesday, 29 February 2012. It was supposed to be so easy. Was going to sweep the big awards and the technical awards were going to be evenly spread out amongst a bunch of worthy candidates. We made picks using our own insights, insights of other reviewers and general buzz around the Internet. As all the celebrities arrived on the red carpet, and Tom Gunn. Commented on their dresses and suits, I sat back with my Tim Horton’s coffee and timbits, looking over my Oscar picks, and I felt confident. I was no...

Speedrocket Film: Film Review: Attack The Block (2011)
http://speedrocketfilm.blogspot.com/2012/02/film-review-attack-block-2011.html
Wednesday, 29 February 2012. Film Review: Attack The Block (2011). There are few alien invasion films that have the kind of charm that Attack the Block. Has Its similar to Battle LA. In terms of being thrust right into the action. But the characters and pure situational humor of aliens waging war on a South London neighbourhood make this an excellent film in every way that Battle LA was a terrible flop. The story opens up with a lone nurse named Sam ( Jodie Whittaker. Dennis ( Franz Drameh. To keep the d...

Speedrocket Videogames: Videogame Review: Brink (2011)
http://speedrocketvideo.blogspot.com/2012/02/videogame-review-brink-2012.html
Thursday, 23 February 2012. Videogame Review: Brink (2011). Set out to make a whole new genre of objective based shooter with Brink. Though a lot of the thinking has been taken out of the shooter genre this game seems to grow quite stale and offer little more than a basic multiplayer assault match, with countless squads running to capture command posts and complete objectives before the clock runs out. But to me Brink was equally as disappointing as the Kevin Costner. The opening footage sets the game up...

Speedrocket Film: Film Review: The Sitter (2011)
http://speedrocketfilm.blogspot.com/2012/03/film-review-sitter-2011.html
Sunday, 4 March 2012. Film Review: The Sitter (2011). Is in the driver’s seat for this mismatched comedy, with aims to take Hill’s raunchy style and package it into something that could be enjoyed by both adult and young adult. Honestly if they had taken a few f bombs and a few plot items out, I believe this one could have been just that. Music visuals and acting were all afterthoughts this film seems like it was just a paycheck not a single iconic scene will stick with me save maybe the situational humo...

Wednesday, 21 March 2012. Album Review: WZRD: WZRD (2012). And Dot Da Genius. Collaborated to form WZRD. In their debut album these lonely stoners decide to throw caution to the wind and make basically a rock record. Sampling from classics and creating some sweet jams is what WZRD does best, starting off spring with a great record. The single Teleport 2 me, Jami. E is sampled from a track from the drive soundtrack by the band Desire. Called Under Your Spell. The opening Track The Arrival. And does it jus...

Speedrocket Film: Film Review: Underworld Awakening (2012)
http://speedrocketfilm.blogspot.com/2012/02/film-review-underworld-awakening-2012.html
Wednesday, 29 February 2012. Film Review: Underworld Awakening (2012). Just when you thought that they couldn’t make another underworld film suddenly one more comes along. Not that this is a terrible thing it’s rarely ever horrible to see Kate Beckinsale. In that outfit. But doesn’t deliver the same thrills as the other films? Let’s find out. Selene eventually links these visions to young girl only known as Eve ( India Eisley. Which would’ve been great to include in the feature. 1 March 2012 at 02:54.
