High Cols of the Tour de France – John’s edition. High cols of the Tour de France – Col de telegraph, col de la Croix du Fer. July 18, 2011. Once there we were blasted by a summer thunderstorm that lasted well into the next day, trapping us in the ski village, which hosted a nice Bastille day celebration. Finally the rain stopped, but the clouds, and the cold did not clear off. We mounted the col in very cold and foggy weather, before the 80km downhill back into Grenoble. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
