ElkinsMission: March 2012
http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 25, 2012. This is a picture that will be forever imprinted on my heart. Soldiers blessing the sacrament. What more can I say? Friday, March 23, 2012. When I feel sorry for myself because of missing all of the wonderful friends we've made here, I'll remember the last words of our dear friend Ashley:. See you there.". Friday, March 9, 2012. It isn't going to be easy to beat me! I call this a "knot" of soldiers. Some of our soldiers elect to take marshall arts training in addition to regular P...

ElkinsMission: December 2011
http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 30, 2011. I absolutely love these natural Christmas trees that grow here. The little red berries are so festive and fun! There are trees with red berries everywhere. Some have leaves, some are just berries, some are trimmed like this into a Christmas tree shape. I would like to steal one to put in my house. I wouldn't even have to decorate it! We were happy to have permission to spend Christmas with our daughter and her family. Our oldest grandson turned twelve a couple days before Chris...

The Baer's: Performers and Singers...
http://baerkidsandco.blogspot.com/2012/08/performers-and-singers.html
Friday, August 3, 2012. Jacob's final choir concert was held at the Sacred Heart Church. It was a wonderful performance. I'm glad he's had a good experience with the choir and intends to continue. Lexie and Cactus gave a clever duet the weekend he came to sing in Ely. The town enjoyed his many performances including the National Anthem on Memorial Day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Grandma and Grandpa are HOME! After serving as full time missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fairbanks, Alaska for 23 months, Grandma and Grandpa Spens are HOME! They came home to new grandchildren, taller grandchildren, grandchildren with less teeth, grandchildren with more teeth, but mostly to a family full of love and admiration for them and their example. Their service has blessed us all in countless ways. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Saturday, August 4, 2012. A mathematics conference sponsored by NCTM for teachers of high school mathematics afforded me the opportunity to rub shoulders with some great people, learn a lot and enjoy one of God's greatest creations, the ocean! These pics are from Manhattan Beach near LAX in Los Angeles, CA. The conference was awesome, the beach was awesome! I love the feel of the sand in my toes, the sound of the waves, the smell in the air.all of it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Little Spens Family: Catch up #3284 or something like that
http://littlespensfamily.blogspot.com/2012/01/catch-up-3284-or-something-like-that.html
Thursday, January 12, 2012. Catch up #3284 or something like that. I'm so bad at posting anything lately. I swear most of my posts are titled "catch up". Anyway, this is what we've been up to lately:. We had so much fun on Christmas morning this year! This is Grahm's 3rd Christmas, but it's the first one that he's actually been excited about the presents, not just the wrapping! It was so fun to see his face light up when we came around the corner to see the tree lit up and all the presents underneath.

ElkinsMission: Tender Mercies and Transfers
http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012/01/tender-mercies-and-transfers.html
Friday, January 27, 2012. Tender Mercies and Transfers. This is a dear friend who used to come out to our Ft. Eustis Group to teach some of the Sunday lessons to the soldiers. Just before Christmas she and her husband were blessed with a sweet little son who will soon be legally adopted and sealed for eternity. What joy! We had the privilege of attending "transfer meeting" yesterday in Richmond. This is where all of the new missionaries are matched up to their companions, who will be trainers. We...This ...

ElkinsMission: September 2011
http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 9, 2011. The Chaplain called us! In the afternoon we drove to the Norfolk airport (1 hour away) to get Soldier K. After a couple calls and 1 1/2 hours of flight delays we were finally able to pick him up. The poor man had been travelling all day from California and had a major headache. I knew how he felt because flying makes me sick too. We finally got him delivered back to the base. Tuesday we had to be on base early for In-Processing which is usually on Monday, but was delayed becaus...
