Daphne's House: Onion Pie
http://daphnes-house.blogspot.com/2012/01/onion-pie.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Many of the best recipes are "born of necessity" ….or what happens to be left in the refrigerator. This onion pie came together because of a few (past peak) onions and some remaining green pepper slices I couldn't bear to waste. "Onion Pie" is just another name for quiche. The "crust" is also the result of Wasa Crispbread Rye Crackers that were lingering on a shelf, waiting for a more dramatic exit. Several medium onions - sliced. Green pepper - julienned. 188; cup olive oil.

Besides visiting with family and friends, drinking too much in my backyard, and going to the zendo – I spent my long weekend on Project Sewing Room Closet. My closet is no longer an overwhelming hoard that I refuse to look at! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Send to Email Address.

More apocalypse, less angst. Post #3025: When the dead come calling. Posted by Megan Eliza. This past weekend, we held our housewarming party on Gabriola – and a fine time was had by all (more on that in a future post), but there was one incident that occurred on Saturday morning that has stayed with me and that I want to relay here before any of the details elude me (as memories fade almost as quickly as we make them). 8221; Two of them (Mel and Marika) immediately confirmed that they saw the same name ...

More apocalypse, less angst. Post #3001: Moving toward moving. Posted by Megan Eliza. Subsequent to my post last week, we are really doing this thing – and I’m feeling excited about it, after a weekend of looking at houses, and driving around the little island of Gabriola. And that question is only answered emotionally, because the practical *need* of housing (a place to sleep and cook) is served by far less than what is on offer in either place. And so I am working at remembering day by day – this...

Trapped in the USA: Tea-time #341
http://inthestates.blogspot.com/2007/01/tea-time-341.html
Trapped in the USA. After 5 years, I've abandoned this blog. If you want more, go to boscoh.com. I look into my cup of tea. And see some people swimming. I swirl my cup. Making waves and minor storms. I look carefully and see. That they are mostly accountants. Treading tea in pin-striped suits. Some are frightened, others just smile. If they could they would advise me. I could invest in the toaster. After a time my thirst takes hold. I raise the cup to my lips. Surprised, I see that some.

Trapped in the USA: Looking at the surface of a membrane
http://inthestates.blogspot.com/2006/12/looking-at-real-membrane.html
Trapped in the USA. After 5 years, I've abandoned this blog. If you want more, go to boscoh.com. Looking at the surface of a membrane. What does the the membrane that wraps around our cells look like? We know that the membrane is choc-a-bloc full of proteins, but we can't see them directly because the level of detail is too small for our electron microscopes to look at, without destroying the cell. Is there a way to re-construct the mosaic of proteins that normally stud a membrane? I live in San Francisco.

More apocalypse, less angst. Post #3029: Almost ready to turn on the fall projects. Posted by Megan Eliza. I’ve got some fall sewing also on my mind. I recently went to the wedding of my ex-boyfriend and sewed a whole outfit in honour of the occasion – dress, wrap (which I swapped out for a crochet wrap instead), and clutch:. This was my first time working with a lace overlaid on a satin lining, and I modified the Coco pattern. New baby quilt ready to go NY with me at the end of the month. That means my ...
