Saturday, October 11, 2014. Afraid of the pool. About 5-6 years ago, I remember Zane taking his first swimming lessons. He was a natural fish, and the smile never left his face. He was in constant trouble for floating/bouncing away from the wall. I watched other kids who were afraid to put their toes in the water and felt badly for the parents who had to force their kids to take lessons to overcome their fears. Monday, June 29, 2015. Time for a picture update. Of all the foods we took out of Zane's diet, he said he missed donuts the most. So we let him splurge one morning. Two little girls in a big chair. A few years ago I printed a PDF of different feelings, trying to teach Zane how to better express his emotions. Those pages are now scrap paper. Libby colored this for Damion on Father's Day - REGRETFUL! We bought this tiny mailbox for her barbies; Grammy put mail in it! Walking in the rain. Floss once a day.

Sunday, July 26, 2015. A much more confident swimmer. Libby just finished her second time through preschool 1 swimming lessons. What a difference 3/4 of a year makes! She took lessons in October 2014. And cried through the first lesson. This is her now! Bravest kid in the class. Thursday, October 30, 2014. Real grades and progress. Zane's first quarter report card is in, and third grade is the first grade with letter grades. This kid is doing fantastic, and in some subjects had to work hard for his grades because he didn't understand what 50%=F meant at the beginning of the quarter. Adventures in Iowa City Living. Friday, June 27, 2014. Cate, Ben, Maggie and I met my parents at Adventureland on Tuesday. The kids loved every minute of the trip. We all went in the Log Ride, which is probably my favorite ride in the park. Cate and Ben went on the Tornado with Grandpa Doug. Mom went on the Scrambler with Cate. Maggie felt sick almost immediately and Mom was not far behind. We ended the day with the Raging River. Maggie was so wet she has to strip down to her undies for the ride home.

Post-race photo with their cheering section. Ben earned 14th place in his division and Cate finished in 11th place. So happy that my brothers were back in Iowa for the weekend! Chris and I couldn't be prouder of their hard work. Special thanks to Grandpa Doug and Grandma Sheila for watching Maggie and Cece during the race.
